Louis Mazure Sr., construction foreman


ALBANY–Louis Mazure Sr., 83, of Kinderhook, died Monday April 5, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Born in Yonkers July 27, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Eva (Bresnock) Mazure.

Mr. Mazure served with the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe and was a Purple Heart recipient.

He married Eleanor (Williams) Mazure on July 27, 1947. She passed away in 1995.

He was a foreman for Pin Oak Construction in Red Hook for many years and was a member of Laborers Local # I000 in Poughkeepsie.

He is survived by five children, Louis Mazure Jr. (Mary Lou) of Fayetteville, Ga., Audrey Linden (Roger) of Potsdam, Sharon Egnasher (Brian) of Kinderhook, Elaine Mazure of Pensacola, Fla., Darrin Mazure (Mena) of Kinderhook; a sister, Evelyn Zelman of Columbiaville; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

His son Brian Mazure and his siblings Mike, George, John, Peter, Mary, Susie, Annie and Helen died previously.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Valatie with the service conducted by Rev. Stark Jones. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 11 :30 a.m. at the funeral home.
