Dominic Thomasino, WWII vet served in the Pacific Theater

HUDSON–Dominic Thomasino, lifelong resident of Hudson, died Friday, February 5, at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was 85. Dominic Thomasino

Born in Hudson on February 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Peter and Angelina Thomasino. Mr. Thomasino was a driver for Canada Dry in Hudson and previously worked for Atlas Cement in Hudson. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S.Army in the Pacific Theater.

He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Hudson, life member of the V.F.W. Post # 1314 Hudson, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Thomasino is survived by his loving wife of over 62 years, Dorothy E. (Schaffer) Thomasino; one daughter, Helen Garrison of Hudson and her significant other, Douglas Chidester; one brother, Peter Thomasino of Hudson; grandchildren Gary Garrison Jr. and his wife, Robin, and Michelle Love and her significant other, Richard Larsen Jr.; as well as his triplet great-grandsons: Joshua, Ryan and Trevor Garrison.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning 10 a.m. from the funeral home with Deacon Charles O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Cedar Park Cemetery
