Hilda M. Schunk (1921 – 2016)
PHILMONT—Hilda M. Schunk, 95, formerly of Greenport, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Born January 12, 1921 in Hudson, she was the daughter of Elmer and Elsie (Swartz) Haynor.

Mrs. Schunk was employed as a machine operator at Mohawk Novelty and also worked at the Pocketbook Factory for 38 years.

She lived a simple life and loved her family.

Surviving are: her devoted grandchildren, Michelle Harrington and Thomas B. (Kym) Schunk; a great-granddaughter, Makayla Schunk; two special nephews, John and David Pollack.

She was predeceased by her husband, Abram Schunk; her parents; her son, Thomas W. Schunk and her sister, Helen Pollack.

Visiting hours were held Friday, May 6 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Interment was in the Livingston Cemetery.

Crystal Lee Machado (1948- 2016)

CANAAN—Crystal Lee Machado of Canaan passed away May 5, 2016.

She was born January 16, 1948 in Damariscotta, ME, to Roy and Zoa Morse. She attended school in Housatonic and Pittsfield, MA.

Ms. Machado lived with her companion of 34 years, Arthur Gary Finney. She worked most of her life as a waitress. Ms. Machado loved life and spending time with her family.

She is survived by: a daughter, Star Ann Machado of Pittsfield, MA; sons, Ronald Machado of Albany and James Machado of NH; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

There was a graveside service Tuesday, May 10 at the Flat Brook Cemetery upper section on Miller Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbia-Greene Hospice.
