Retired SMsgt Paul R. Martin (1957 – 2020)
CHATHAM—Retired SMsgt (senior master sergeant) Paul Raymond Martin, age 62, of Chatham passed away February 21, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
He grew up and was educated in Chatham. After graduation, Mr. Martin entered the Air Force and would serve for 20 years. When he returned from active duty he worked for the state for 14 years until his retirement.
He was an active member of the Kinderhook Elks and St. James Knights of Columbus, a life-member of the S.W. Smith Hook and Ladder Company, an active member of the martial arts community obtaining status of a black belt. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends and spending time by the pool.
Mr. Martin is survived by: his wife, Dawn Anderson-Martin; mother, Marilyn Martin; son, Christopher Martin; daughter, Jessica Martin; his siblings, Edwin (Lorraine) Martin, Cherylee Endryck and Adam (Rebecca) Martin; his grandchildren, Jadyn Carruthers, Austin Martin and Ethan Martin.
He was predeceased by: his father, Edwin and brothers, Kevin and Steven.
Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, Tuesday February 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Church, Wednesday, February 26 at noon. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Martin’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dorothy J. Hoffman
HILLSDALE—Dorothy Jean Hoffman of Hillsdale passed away peacefully February 22, 2020.
She was born July 4, 1927, the daughter of Harold and Helen DeWitt of North Chatham. She married Warren George Hoffman, Sr., of Hillsdale, October 6, 1947. She worked for a local company for a time.
She and her husband had five sons, Warren G. Hoffman, Jr., (Donna VanAllen), Dale A. Hoffman (Denise), Bruce D. Hoffman (Patricia), Ned C. Hoffman (Terri), and Gary L. Hoffman (Patricia).
Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman had a prosperous dairy farm and were in business with son, Gary, milking more than 50 head of cattle.
Mrs. Hoffman was predeceased by: her parents; sisters, Edna Hancock of Ohio, Mary Panorama of Thorn wood and Helen Yukon of Germantown, as well as her husband.
She is survived by: her sister, Evangeline of Hasbro Heights; her sons; nine grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Hoffman, Rebekah Hoffman, Pamela Hoffman (Joshua), Leanne Hoffman Torrential (Michael), Amelia Hoffman (Michael Curry), Hannah Hoffman, Allison Hoffman (Michael Moore), Brittany Hamburger (Douglas) and Kimberly Hoffman; four great-grandchildren, Gabriela Hoffman-Emory, Elena Torrential, Alexander Leicester and Danton Hamburger and many nieces and nephews.
She was an avid quilter, knitter and baker. She loved making items for her family. She also loved crossword puzzles and garden flowers.
Friends are invited and may call at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm.
Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the North Hillsdale Cemetery. HILLSDALE—Wendy Osterman-New, 52, of Hillsdale passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at her residence.

John P. Bermingham (1950 – 2020)
ALBANY—John P. Bermingham passed away February 21, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospice.
Born February 13, 1950 at St. Annes, Fermoy, Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Walsh Bermingham.
He was raised in Shanballymore, County Cork, Ireland and was a graduate of Rochestown College. After graduation he moved to England where he became employed at Lloyd’s Bank of London. Moving on to New York, he attended Fordham University and graduated from Siena College with a major in finance. Becoming a member of the Cement and Concrete Workers Union, Local 18A, he focused on a career in construction in New York City. He also spent a couple of years employed on the Alaskan Pipeline Project.
Mr. Bermingham was very social and enjoyed his time with family and friends as well as The Toastmasters of Hudson.
He is survived by: his sons, John and Peter; granddaughter, Brigid Rose; brothers, Walter and Redmond (Briget); sister, Eleanor; former wife, Carol (Moller); nieces; nephews along with his dear friend, Gabriel Palmer.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. James Church, Chatham at noon.
