Robert Gross (1926 – 2020)
GHENT—Robert Gross of Chatham passed away August 29, 2020 at the Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born November 26, 1926 in Chatham, he was the son of the late Peter M. and Grace E. Bullis Gross.
He served in the Army and worked as a field support agent for IBM. While working at IBM he summered at Kinderhook Lake and upon his retirement he moved back to Chatham.
“Bob” was a lifetime member of the Chatham American Legion. He also loved to work on old televisions in his spare time.
He was predeceased by his wife, Julia in 2014. He is survived by: his brother, Peter of Green Bay, WI; several nieces and nephews and good friends in Chatham.
There will be a calling hour Friday, September 4, 10 a.m. at the French Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham with a Mass of Christian Burial following at St. James Church at 11 a.m.

John H. Fuss, Sr. (1932 – 2020)
GHENT—John H. Fuss, Sr., passed away August 31, 2020 at the Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born March 8, 1932 in Ghent, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Roraback Fuss.
He graduated high school and went into the Air Force where he served for four years. When he returned he got a job at the Ghent Highway Department. He worked his way up to foreman and retired after 35 years of service.
He was a past-member of the Ghent Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed the outdoors, his lawn and garden and his evening rides looking for deer.
His wife of 63 years, Josephine, predeceased him in April. He was also predeceased by his son, Michael and brother, Ralph.
Mr. Fuss is survived by: his sons, John H., Jr., and Steven, both of Ghent; granddaughter, Erin Nartowicz; brother, Richard (Barbara) of Ghent; sister, Mary Wagner of Troy and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534.
