Piers Forestier-Walker (1950 – 2017)

CLAVERACK—Piers Charles Robert Forestier-Walker “Piers,” 67, of Claverack crossed over the threshold Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home.

He was the husband of Joey Cashen and father of Rowen, Bryony and Michael. Calling hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 12, 13, 14 from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cashen Farm, 81 Roxbury Road, Hudson 12534. A funeral will be held at Falcon Hall at Triform Camphill Village, 20 Triform Road, Hudson, Monday, May 15 at 10 a.m. For directions to Triform see:

Olga V. Shields (1918 – 2017)

GHENT—Olga V. “Tommy” Shields, 98, of Ghent died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Whittier Rehabilitation Center.

Born September 27, 1918 in Castleton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Majack) Koryn.

Ms. Shields worked for a time at the Fort Orange Paper Company and was best known as the tavern owner of Clinton’s Grill in Castleton. She enjoyed fishing and was a good cook with chili being her specialty. She had a good sense of humor and a no-nonsense attitude

She is survived by: three children, Catherine Jean Boudria of Clearwater, FL, William Kasky (Bernice) of Largo, FL, and Thomas G. Clinton of Castleton; her ex-daughter-in-law, Patricia; three grandchildren, Greg Kasky (Lisa), Beth Olsen (Chris) and Thresa Clinton; five great-grandchildren, Faith, Hali, Lauren, Victoria and Ryleigh. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Picard, Anna McCauley, Joseph and John Koryn.

Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. The family thanks the staff at Whittier Rehabilitation Center for all the kindness and care given to Ms. Shields.
