Dennis J. Doyle (1949 – 2015)
CHATHAM—Dennis J. Doyle, born April 22, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, passed away peacefully in his home February 7.
He was predeceased by his father, William and brother, James Doyle.
He is survived by: his mother, Janet (Johnson) Doyle; his fiancée, Carole VanTassell and her children, Gene Ringwood, Jr., and Jacqueline Campion, as well as her seven grandchildren; his brother, David (Mary Alice) Doyle; his sisters, Mary (Tom) Kihlmire, Elizabeth Doyle and Maureen (Mike) Talvi-Sterbenz; his children, William, Daniel (Rebecca), Steven (Denise), Robert (Ashley) Doyle; and his grandchildren that he adored and who will miss him greatly, Caitlin, Caleb, Grace, Peyton, Avery, Blake and Mackenzie. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of friends.
After graduating from Arlington High School, Mr. Doyle went into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 71. He retired from CSX after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling with his fiancée, golfing and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Calling hours will be Thursday, February 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue, Chatham. A Catholic Mass will be held Friday, February 13, noon at St. James Church in Chatham, followed by a reception and celebration of life at the VFW in Ghent. A private burial will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie at a later date.

Ilona G. Clogston (1942 – 2015)
ALBANY—Ilona G. Clogston, 72, of Copake passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born May 8, 1942 in Great Barrington, MA, she is the daughter of the late William and Ina Ilona (Stenberg) Waldorf.
Ilona was a self-employed caretaker. She loved to travel to Vermont and Lake George and spend time there, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren.
Surviving are her devoted sons, William Miller of Ancram, Daniel Clogston of Copake, and Martin Clogston of Copake, her loving grandchildren, Casey Miller and Courtney Miller, and her sister, Melissa Handlowich of Virginia.
Calling hours are Sunday, February 15, 2015, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John Joseph Gampert (1940 – 2015)
ALBANY—John Joseph Gampert of Austerlitz fought a valiant fight against multiple myeloma for the last six months.
He was born August 18, 1940 in Warsaw, Poland, and died February 6, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Prior to that, he lived his life to the fullest. He loved sharing time with his wife, Joan; his sons, Bob and Erik, their wives, Katarina and Tanya; his granddaughters, Alexandra and Olivia, and his dog, Ozzie.
He enjoyed entertaining friends, sharing meals he’d prepared, and engaging in spirited conversation.
Mr. Gampert was an artist, illustrator and beloved teacher. Besides his family, his great loves in life were painting, traveling the world, listening to jazz music, playing the trombone and gardening.
His energy, curiosity, intelligence, and humor were an inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

Rosalie Laspada (1919 – 2015)
CHATHAM—Rosalie Laspada, 95, of Chatham passed away peacefully at home February 8, 2015.
Born July 4, 1919 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Giovanna Ferdico.
She was a seamstress and homemaker.
Mrs. Laspada joins the love of her life, Frank Laspada, whom she was married to for 75 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by: her four children, Sarah (Steve) Sorros of Spencertown, Anthony (Carol) Laspada of Seal Beach, CA, Giovanna JoAnn Laspada of Ghent and Salvatore (Barbara) Laspada of Chatham; 10 grandchildren, Frank Sorros, Steven (Diane) Sorros, Chris (Karen) Sorros, Monica (John) Laspada, Dino (Kim) Laspada, Peter (Kristen) Schiffer, Jodi (Scott) Salvatore, Maryann Laspada, Christina (Chris) Rundell, Kathleen Laspada; her treasures, 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way, Nicholas, Katherine, Christopher, Giovanna, Jacob, Anthony, Tristan, Sean, Anna, Amber, Sianna and Samantha.
She was greatly loved and will be missed.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 13 at the French Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 14, 9 a.m. in Saint James Church.
