John A. Caggianelli (1955 – 2020)
ALBANY—John Anthony Caggianelli, 64, of Greenport died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Rhinebeck, October 28, 1955, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret (Antonelli) Caggianelli.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Mavis (Sohotra) Caggianelli of Greenport; brothers and sisters-in-law including, Kenneth and Cathy (Schneider) Sohotra, Joyce Sohotra, Louis Ferri, and Veena Sohotra; nephews, Daniel Sohotra, Jordan Sohotra, Zachary Sohotra; grand-nephew, Darren Sohotra; nieces, Myra Sohotra and Leah Sohotra; his very special cousin, Angelica Antonelli; and David Kwizera, whom he loved like a son; and by his faithful friend and helper, Warren Sheldon.
He was predeceased by his sister, Michelle Caggianelli; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Sohotra) Ferri; as well as, brother-in-law, Ernest Sohotra.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, 11 a.m. at the Clearview Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 275 Schodack Drive, Castleton. Calling hours are private.
Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery, 33 Church Road, Greenport. Memorial contributions are requested to Samaritans Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Arrangements are with the Sacco Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
