Beatrice M. Bouchard (1934 – 2018)
HUDSON—Beatrice M. Bouchard, 84, of Hillsdale died Monday, September 3, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 11, 1934 in Hillsdale to Shadic and Edith (Madison) Haywood.
A lifelong area resident Ms. Bouchard was employed as a certified nursing assistant at the Pine Haven Home in Philmont for more than 28 years until her retirement in 2001.
She touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed by her family and those lives she touched with her warm caring heart and strong spirit. “Rest in Peace Ma Bea”.
Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Mary Bouchard of New Mexico; daughter, Alexis Blaylock of North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Haywood and Catherine Wells (Sam), both of Great Barrington, MA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Terry Cleveland earlier this year and a son, Alex Bouchard in 1964. She also leaves behind her primary caregiver, Marria Cleveland of Hillsdale (Terry’s daughter.)
Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018, 2 p.m. in the Copake Cemetery with the Reverend George Brennan officiating.

Fred A. Dickens, Jr. (1941 – 2018)
VALATIE—Fred A. Dickens, Jr., 77, of Valatie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family September 26, 2018. Born April 18, 1941 in Mountain City, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Fred A. and Anna Mae (Nelson) Dickens.
Before his retirement, Mr. Dickens was a self-employed contractor in the area. He was a life member of the Tri-Village Rod and Gun Club, Valatie. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, gardening and kept a very meticulous garden.
As a car enthusiast, he owned several antique cars. He was always willing and able to help someone out in need.
Mr. Dickens was a wonderful dad and enjoyed spending time with his family which include: his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly A. (Davidson) Dickens; his children, Fred A. Dickens, III, of Valatie, Katherine M. Kirsch (Larry “Bones” Grindstaff) and Michael (Heather) Dickens, both of Butler, TN; a sister, Dorothy Cogar of Carrollton, TX,; his grandchildren, Karissa M. Kirsch of Knoxville, TN, and Karley M. Kirsch, Michael Dickens and Ashley Bunting, all of Mountain City, TN.
A celebration of Mr. Dickens’s life will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 4 to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 3212 Church Street, Valatie. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
Myroslaw Mykytiw (1929 – 2018)
STUYVESANT—Myroslaw Mykytiw, of Stuyvesant passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at home with his wife of 68 years, Lubamyra at his side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 1025 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, with the Reverend George Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Ruth M. Wasner (1938 – 2018)
CLAVERACK—Ruth M. Wasner, 80, of Claverack passed away September 26, 2018 at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1938 in Carmel, one of six daughters born to Nicolas and Nina (Smalley) Geoffroy.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family was her greatest joy.
Mrs. Wasner was very involved with the Second Reformed Church of Philmont, where she served as the financial secretary for the church for many years. She also taught Sunday school and Bible school.
Mrs. Wasner is survived by: her four children, Robert, Jr. and his wife Diane Wasner, Elizabeth Kitsock, Douglas and his wife Julie Wasner and Leann and her husband Christopher Wolfe; her 10 grandchildren, Jenifer, Brian and Steven Wasner, Nicolas and Adam Kitsock, Kylie and Jayden Wasner, and Timothy, Alexander and Bradley Wolfe; one great-granddaughter, Alexa Kitsock; four sisters, Helen Dykeman, Sylvia Mateer, Arlene Quinion and Anita Vitali.
In addition to her husband, Robert Wasner, she was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne Beebe.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
