Annamae M. Witko (1957 – 2019)
ALBANY—Annamae M. Witko, 62, of Claverack passed away November 24, 2019 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born April 7, 1957 to John and Agnes (Drabick) Fiero. She loved traveling, being outside in the sunshine and watching birds.
She was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Witco is survived by: her husband, Kirk Witko; her son, Chad Witko; her siblings, John Fiero, Nicholas Fiero, Helen (Kevin) McGee; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered as a friend to many and loved by all.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 29, 2019 from the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Interment followed in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Howard J. Milton, Jr. (1932 – 2019)
POUGHKEEPSIE—Howard James “Windy” Milton, Jr., 87, a lifelong Millerton resident, died peacefully Monday, November 25, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center with his loving family at his bedside.
“Windy,” as he was affectionately known, retired from the Wassaic Developmental Center in 1986 following a 20-year career as a therapy aide, prior to that he worked for Taconic Products (K&E) in Millerton for about 10 years. He also worked for Webutuck School District as a bus driver in the transportation department for several years.
Born January 7, 1932 in the Irondale section of Millerton, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Marion (VandeBogart) Milton, Sr.
He attended school in Millerton. On September 25, 1954 at Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, he married Marion J. Taylor. Their marriage lasted over 65 years. Mrs. Milton survives in Millerton.
Mr. Milton was an active life-member of the Millerton Fire Company for more than 53 years. He became an honorary member in 2012. He served as fire police captain and on the House Committee, where he was known to all as the “chief cook and bottle washer.” He loved to cook at the Sunday morning breakfasts and evening dinners that the fire company hosted, many times with his wife and his children lending a helping hand. He was a longtime member of the Millerton Lions Club and enjoyed driving and delivering food for “Meals on Wheels.” He drove the tractor and towed the hay wagon at Waubeeka Family Campground in Copake for many years and could often be found in his spare time socializing at the McDonald’s in Millerton, where he received the “Customer of the Month Award” several times. He enjoyed bowling at Washington Lanes in Millbrook and playing horseshoes in a local league with his friends. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and his many friends. “Millerton will forever be changed!”
In addition to his wife, Marion, Mr. Milton is survived by: four children and their spouses; Dale H. and Lorrie Milton of Walton, Michael E. and Mindy Milton of Millerton, James E. and Lyla Milton of Millerton and Laura and Leon Campbelll of Claverack; a sister, Elizabeth Swartz of Stanfordville; his son-in-law, Herbert Zullo of Hollowville; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Zullo and brothers, Dale and Paul Milton.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton. The Millerton Fire Company will conduct services during calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 2, 2019, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia. Father Robert K. Wilson will officiate. Marie F. Shook (1926 – 2019)
PHILMONT—Marie Fitting Shook, 92, a lifelong resident of Ghent, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.
Born in Ghent December 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry C., Sr., and Clara (Kolmeyer) Fitting.
She was an apple packer with Hudson Cold Storage for many years.
Mrs. Shook was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and loved gardening.
She will be greatly missed by her family including: her daughter, Rosemarie Taylor of Philmont; grandchildren, Zoe, Davena, Josh and Merry; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by: her husband of 56 years, Russell Shook in 2003; by brothers, Henry Fitting, Jr., John P. Fitting, Christopher “Pete” Fitting and sisters, Elizabeth Andreczik, Caroline Atwood, Margaret Molner and Elsie Glynn.

Thomas J. Gutierrez (1945 – 2019)
POUGHKEEPSIE—Thomas J. Gutierrez, 74, of Gallatin passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
He was a resident of Gallatin for 48 years and previously lived on Long Island.
His first business was G Electronics in 1964. He was also owner/operator of Roadrunner TV. Upon moving to Gallatin, he started his third business, Gallatin Pump & Electric and eventually retired from the New York State Thruway Authority. He was a lieutenant in a Long Island Fire Department and a member of the Milan Fire Department where he also served as secretary/treasurer.
He also was a charter member of Milan Rescue Squad. Mr. Gutierrez was a talented person who built his own home in Gallatin. He enjoyed boating, was a certified scuba diver and was able to fix anything.
He was born July 2, 1945 in Freeport. On January 22, 1966, he married Margaret Webb.
He is survived by: his wife, Marge of Gallatin; a son, Thomas J. Gutierrez, Jr., and his wife Melissa of Copake; a daughter, Jean Gutierrez and her wife Billie Greene of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Alexander and Madison Gutierrez and Stefanie (Bill) Iannone, and their children Jackson and Sophia; a brother-in-law, Larry Webb; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Linda Moore; several nieces, nephews and cousins. His sister-in-law, Jackie Webb predeceased him.
