Miriam Kahn Weintraub

GERMANTOWN—Miriam Kahn Weintraub, age 103 of Germantown died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her residence.

Born in Albany, Mrs. Weintraub was a graduate of the Albany High School. She married her husband, Benjamin in 1932 and later settled in Queens, where she raised her family. Mrs. Weintraub later moved to South Palm Beach, Florida, where she was employed as a saleslady for the Pavillon Lingerie Store in Lake Worth, Florida, and later as their bookkeeper, retiring at age 87.

Mrs. Weintraub moved to Germantown in 2007 to reside with her son, Myles and daughter-in-law, Tinny and remained with them until her passing. She was an avid reader.

Mrs. Weintraub was married to Benjamin Weintraub (architect) until his passing in 1976 and was the daughter of the late Morris and Jennie Milstein Kahn. She was the loving mother of Myles Weintraub (architect) and his wife Tinny of Germantown and New York City; grandmother of Vannesa Houghtlin of Saranac Lake and James Houghtlin of Newton Highlands, MA; great-grandmother of Elodie, Sylvie, Daven Linck, Gus and Ella Houghtlin. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Weintraub was predeceased by her daughter, Linda, Weintraub; sisters, Pearl Symansky and Sally Filin; brothers, Sidney and Howard Kahn.

Services took place at the Ohav Shalom Cemetery, Western Avenue, Guilderland, Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Luz Marie Ocasio (1947 – 2014)

NIVERVILLE—Luz Marie Ocasio, 67, of Niverville passed away peacefully at home, September 15, 2014.

She was born in Puerto Rico January 11, 1947, the daughter of the late Jesus Ocasio and Eulalia Almodovar Ocasio.

Ms. Ocasio was employed by Coarc in Mellenville for many years until her death.

She is survived by her devoted friend, Janice “Gramma” Malmberg and her family, as well as, her close friends and companions, Caro and Darnetta.

Services will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014, 10:30 a.m. from the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, with burial immediately following.

Pasqualina R. Bertram (1929 – 2014)

ALBANY—Pasqualina “Lee” Bertram of Ghent was received into the Lord’s arms September 15, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospice.

She was loved dearly by her children, Doris (Jim) Cady, Linda (Gary) Randall and David (Sarah) Bertram. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angel, Bryan, Bobby, Travis and Amanda and her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Brianna, Connor and Mackenzie.

Mrs. Bertram was predeceased by her husband, Donald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 19, 10 a.m. in Saint James Church, Chatham. Interment will follow at Saint James Cemetery.

Sam J. Grimaldi

HUDSON—Sam J. Grimaldi passed away peacefully September 16, 2014 at home.

He was the beloved son of the late Antonio and Francesca Sinacori Grimaldi.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rosalie Monticciolo Grimaldi.

Mr. Grimaldi is survived by: his sons, Anthony, Mario and John Joseph (Rose); his grandchildren, Amanda, Rosemarie, Joseph, Michael and Dominic; his great-grandchildren, Antonio and Alijah and his dearest sister, Antonia (Lee D’Allassandro).

Family will receive friends Thursday, September 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the M. Grimaldi Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 20, 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Snows Church in Floral Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Columbia/Greene Community Hospice or the Wounded Warrior Project in Mr. Grimaldi’s name would be appreciated.

Nancy McNeill Case (1939 – 2014)

SARATOGA SPRINGS—Nancy McNeill Case, 75, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Saratoga Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Brooklyn, June 10, 1939, the daughter of Archibald and Wilhelmina McNeill.

She was predeceased by her brother, Malcolm McNeill.

Survivors include: a son, Bruce Case and Marilyn Cox of Saugerties; a grandson, Tyler Case and many close friends.

Ms. Case had a great passion for life. She was a ray of sunshine and a source of inspiration to all her family, friends and co-workers.

She was a registered nurse for many years. She worked at Sharon Hospital in CT, Vero Beach Hospital in FL, and most recently Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Vero Beach, FL.

Ms. Case had many interests. She was a member of the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club, and the Pointe West Golf Club in Vero Beach. She loved golfing, dinner parties, gardening and she enjoyed going to Nantucket and the races at Saratoga every summer. She also enjoyed boating and being near the ocean.

Funeral services and burial were in the Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, with the Reverend Carol Miller officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage 11714.
