Michael P. Van Wagner (1980 – 2014)
HUDSON—Michael P. Van Wagner, 34, of Philmont died Friday August 29, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1980, a son on Judith Craver of Catskill and the late Paul Van Wagner.He was employed by O’s Hillsdale Diner as a cook.
Survivors include: his mother and step father, Judith and Clayton Craver; his son, Michael Van Wagner, Jr., and his siblings, Paula Van Wagner, Kenny Van Wagner, Eddie Van Wagner, Clayton Craver, Anthony Craver, Robert Craver and Cory Mann, Jr.
A service was conducted at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, Friday September 5, 2014. Interment was in the Mellenville Union Cemetery.

Marion E. Endryck (1930 – 2014)
VALATIE—Marion Elizziebell Stegmann Endryck passed peacefully September 3, 2014 in her home from a brief illness.
She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Francis “Monk”/”Slugger” Endryck; her two sisters, Ardith “Sookie” Harder of San Antonio, TX, and Sandra “Muffie” Alverson of Copper Cove, TX; brother, Rick Stegmann of Valatie; her children, Francis (Tammy) Endryck of Beverly Hills, FL, and Peter (Jean) Endryck of Valatie; grandchildren, Casey (Kevin) Hanlon of Stuyvesant Falls, Elizabeth (Curran) Chidester of Radcliff, KY, Rebecca Endryck of Boston, MA; great grandchildren, Hunter and Tanner Hanlon; many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Albany, April 11, 1930 and graduated from Martin H Glynn High school in 1948. She was the daughter of Marion and William Dougherty and stepfather Fred Stegmann, all of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister, Eleanor (Pat) Wills and brother, David Stegmann.
Mrs. Endryck started her working career at Montgomery Wards and then worked at Ichabod Crane Central School Central in administration from 1967 until her retirement in 1985.
Mrs. Endryck was a selfless, kind and gentle person. She enjoyed camping at Alpine Lake with her husband and the grandchildren; reading and traveling extensively worldwide with her husband. She was an honorary secretary-member to the Valatie Santa Claus Club for more than 20 years and sang in the St. Joseph Novitiate’s choir.
She loved taking walks with her dogs. “Say hi to Cocoa for us mom.” She loved family gatherings and holidays especially Thanksgiving. Her famous stuffing was as important as the turkey and other accoutrements.
She loved animals and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society in her memory.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Mrs. Endryck’s caregivers: Laurie Demerest, Charlene Gregio, Connie Brandley, Shannon Williams, Terra Erlichman, JoJo Prestipino, Lynn Berryman and Cherylee Martin-Endryck.
A funeral was held at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie, September 8, 2014 followed by burial.

Kevin Ellard Martin (1954 – 2014)
CHATHAM—Kevin Ellard Martin, 59, of Chatham, died suddenly September 3, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Martin was a lifelong resident of Chatham.
He graduated from Chatham High School, where he excelled at baseball, football and basketball.
Mr. Martin’s many passions were hunting, fishing, gardening and spending quality time with his friends and family. He loved the saxophone and his new puppy, Charlie.
Mr. Martin is survived by: his son, Kevin Michael Martin; daughter, Brenda S. Gilbert; companion, Laura Jones, whom he loved deeply; Chris E. Benton and Gail M. Martin; his parents, Marilyn (DeVane) and Edwin J. Martin; his brother, Edwin J. Martin (Lorraine); sister, Cherylee A. Martin-Endryck; brother, Steven D. Martin; brother, Paul R. Martin; brother, Adam J. Martin (Rebecca); several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Mass was held at St. James Catholic Church, Saturday, September 6.

Donald R. Johnson (1940 – 2014)
ELIZAVILLE—Donald R. Johnson of Elizaville, formerly of Hopewell Junction, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife at his side, Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Born in the Bronx, June 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Oscar and Carin Johnson.
After attending Yonkers Public Schools, Mr. Johnson graduated from Hunter College where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.
He began his teaching career at Yonkers High School and after moving to Pawling, he taught social studies at the George E. Fischer Middle School in Carmel, until his retirement in 1999.
A lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, Mr. Johnson also was an avid fisherman. He was a charter member of the Hook and Sinker Fishing Club in Yonkers. He also enjoyed golfing and had a love for animals.
Mr. Johnson is survived by: his wife, Ruth A. Johnson; three step-children, Gilbert Beneway (Debbie), Renee Clarke and Kim Emery (Joseph); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Bucher of Yonkers; a cousin, Richard Johnson of Westchester; several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Johansmeyer.
Funeral services were held September 8, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Route 8, Manorton with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating. Burial was at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Manorton.

Jean Wilhemena Paschier Benton (1924 – 2014)
VALATIE—Jean Wilhemena Paschier Benton, age 90, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her awaiting family Friday, September 5, 2014.
She was born March 3, 1924 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Marion and John Paschier.
She was married to Richard C. Benton, the love of her life. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh for many years, as well as in a variety of hospitality roles throughout her life. She retired to care for her grandchildren.
She had many loves, but none compared to the love of her family. Mom, Gram, Nanny and Great Grandma were the only roles she cared about. She was beloved by her late husband; son, Gerald and brother, John.
Mrs. Benton is survived by: her son, Bruce (Irene) Waldorf; daughters, Jeanne Waldorf (Paul) Nelson and Amy Seymour; eight grandchildren, Scott (Dianne) Waldorf, Jodi Waldorf, Jered (Jessica) Waldorf, Brad Waldorf, Wade (Erin) Brady, Bobbi-Jean (Ryan) Bennett, Chezenne Seymour and Thomas Seymour; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Neal Burger; many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Patricia Stubbs.
Services will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Pauline E. Winters (1953 – 2014)
VALATIE—Pauline E. Winters of Mellenville passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie at the age of 60.
She was born December 12, 1953. She is joining her parents, Philo and Cornelia Winters, and her three sisters, Audrey Johnson, Charlotte Fox and Martha Almstead.
She is leaving behind: six brothers, Walt (Gail) Winters of Florida, Leonard (Michelle) Winters and George (Lynn) Winters, both of Mellenville, Daniel (Tina) Winters, Jess (Lari) Winters of Philmont and Phillip (Chris) Winters of Westerlo; her sister, Beth Winters of Mellenville; her four nephews, who were like sons to her, Charles (Trina) Winters, James (Marsha) Winters, T.J. (Robin) Winters, and Walt Winters; a great-nephew, who was her pride and joy, Collin Winters; a great number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a great-great-niece.
Her family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.

Isaac Thomas Williams (1978 – 2014)
W. SAND LAKE—Isaac Thomas Williams, 36, of West Sand Lake passed away suddenly at home, September 2, 2014. Born May 31, 1978 in Hudson, he was the son of Patricia Zucco and stepson of Richard Zucco of Chatham.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard Williams and brother, Joshua Williams.
Mr. Williams was a graduate of Columbia Christian Academy and Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, and was employed as a registered nurse through the Medical Staffing Network.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by: his wife, Katrina (Krimsky); son, Avery Michael; daughters, Jayden Ann, Abigail Rose, Isabella Grace and Emily May; sisters, Susan Borsh, Ann Swindell, Karen Van Allen and Carol Wilber; brothers, Richard, Mark, Aaron and Charles Williams; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 6 from Bible Baptist Church of Ghent with interment at the Ghent Union Cemetery.

Adamina C. Deck (1957 – 2014)
CHATHAM—Adamina C. (Adie) Deck passed peacefully into the arms of God September 3 from complications of a long-term illness.
She was born in Brooklyn, December 2, 1957 and moved to East Chatham with her family in 1965, where she attended Chatham Central Schools.
She lived in Philmont for many years, where she was employed as an assembler at Mellenville Coarc. A devout animal lover, she spent much of her free time volunteering at the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.
Ms. Deck was predeceased by her parents, Philip J. and Adamina E. Deck. She leaves behind: a brother, Philip C. Deck of East Chatham; a nephew, Christopher S. Deck of Buffalo; an aunt, Eleanor Kucharczyk of Chatham; an aunt, Blanche Walla of Long Island; an uncle, Thadeous Kucharczykof Metuchen, NJ and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated September 8 from the St. James Church, Chatham. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery, Ghent. Richard Frederick Lanphear, Sr. (1919 – 2014)
GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Richard Frederick Lanphear, Sr., 94, went into the hands of God, surrounded by his loving family September 6, 2014 at Fairview Hospital.
He was born in Chatham, November 6, 1919, to Harry Lanphear and Mary Elizabeth Hoffman and was one of three children.
He married the love of his life, Jean Piester Lanphear, June 7, 1952. They were married for 62 years. Mr. Lanphear proudly served with the United States Army. He was a World War II veteran stationed in the Philippines. Mr. Lanphear was self-employed with the DeLaval Separator Company, was recognized as man of the year and retired in 1975. He was a 75-year member of S.W. Smith Hook and Ladder Company of Chatham, serving in the role of chief and line officer. He was also a founding father and member of the Chatham Rescue Squad. He was an avid sportsman. In his later years, he spent many hours bird watching and enjoying the sites of nature. His love of exploring and testing homeopathic remedies extended his life. Family gatherings held a special place in his heart and gave him great joy.
He is survived by: his devoted wife Jean (Piester) Lanphear; two loving children, Linda Lanphear Jackson (William), Darin Lee Lanphear (Patricia) and another son; his grandchildren, Danial Lanphear, Ashley Jackson Zwingelberg (Philip), Aleisha Jackson, Benjamin, Erin and Emily Lanphear; a great-grandson, Jackson Reid Zwingelberg; step-grandchildren, Timothy (Laurie) Jackson and Barry (Leya) Jackson; step-great-grandchildren, McKenna, Taylor, Garrett, Erika and Kyle Jackson.
He was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Harry and Cornelius Lanphear. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue, Chatham. David D. Adams (1936 – 2014)
HUDSON—David D. Adams of Greenport and New York City died Thursday, August 28 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was 78.
He was born in Brooklyn, May 26, 1936.
After high school, he served in the U.S. Army and later was a lighting designer for LaMama Theatre in New York City.

William C. Pinnell (1940 – 2014)
HUDSON—William C. Pinnell of Livingston died Sunday September 7 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, December 26, 1940, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Gappa) Pinnell.
Mr. Pinnell was an x-ray equipment designer who specialized in the dental field. He was a humble, selfless and giving person, who is remembered for the generosity of his time and handy skills, without ever anticipating anything in return.
He will be greatly missed by: his sisters, Theresa and (Bud) Molinski, Susan and (Stanley) Swantek; nieces, Karen and (Skip) Ingham, Joan and (Steve) Grogan, Pam and (Brian Wilcox and grand-niece and nephews, Joshua Ingham, Jason Ingham and Sage Wilcox.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 12, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish/ St. Mary’s, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Alfred L. Bartolotta (1962 – 2014)
HUDSON—Alfred L. Bartolotta, 52, of Hudson died Monday, September 8 at Columbia Memorial Hospital following a two-year battle with cancer.
Born January 15, 1962, he is the son of Alfred E. Bartolotta of Germantown and Joan (Hildebrandt) Sedlak of Claverack.
Mr. Bartolotta was the co-owner/operator of George Hildebrandt Trucking in Hudson. He was a graduate of Johnson & Whales in Rhode Island, was a member of the Hudson Elks Lodge #787, New York State Motor Truck Association and the Truckload Carrier’s Association.
Mr. Bartolotta will be greatly missed by: his loving wife, Joanne Day Bartolotta at home; his children, Alfred Tyler Bartolotta and Sarah Kathryn Bartolotta, at home. He is also survived by brothers, Rudy and (JoAnn) Hayes of Claverack, Adam E. Bartolotta of Livingston and his sister, Juanita (Michael) Bryant.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 11, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish/ St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Fr. Frank O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
