JoAnn Thomas (1942 – 2015)
STUYVESANT—JoAnn Thomas, 72, of Stuyvesant died January 2, 2015 at her home.
Born March 2, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Herman Davis and Rebecca Werner. She was wife of the late Woodrow Calvert and Ralph A. Thomas, Jr.
Mrs. Thomas worked for International Harvester as a data entry operator and also for the New York State Senate Office Services. She retired in 2003. She was a member of the Clearview Missionary and Alliance Church in Castleton.
She is survived by: one daughter, Carolyn Gleason of Ghent; two sons, Gregg Thomas of Stuyvesant and E. Barry Calvert of Glendale, AZ; two sisters, Jean Robinson of Joppatowne, MD, and Jeanette O’Neil of Pasadena, MD; four grandchildren, Heather Avery, Dustin Calvert, Ashley Gleason and Becca L. Calvert and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her daughter, Debra Avery; brothers, Butch Davis and Gilbert Davis; sisters, Sharon Davis and Ruth Rowan.
Funeral services will be held at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, Tuesday, January 6, 7 p.m. with the Reverend Nick Becker officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Baltimore.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clearview Missionary and Alliance Church, 275 Schodack Drive, Castleton-on-Hudson 12033 or the Riverside Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.
Annie B. Stroka (1930 – 2015)
RHINEBECK—Annie B. Stroka, 84, a longtime Rhinebeck resident, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born March 17, 1930 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Duscher and Anna Windel Latsch. She moved to Rhinebeck in 1940.
For many years and until her retirement, Ms. Stroka worked as a bank teller with the First National Bank of Rhinebeck.
She is survived by: two sons, William D. Stroka and his wife Pat of Rhinebeck, Richard D. Stroka and his wife Kathie of Germantown; three grandchildren, Rebekka Stroka and her fiancé Adam Johnson of Rhinebeck, Erik Stroka of Rhinebeck and Donald Stroka of Germantown; two step-grandchildren, Jamie Johnson and Niomi Davis, both of Germantown; along with many extended family and colleagues.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Latsch.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 91 East Market Street, Rhinebeck, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Reverend William Starkweather officiating. Interment will be private in Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck.

Jeannine G. Nooney (1932 – 2015)
HUDSON—Jeannine G. Nooney, 82, of Ghent passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born March 20, 1932 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Gertrude (Lape) Hayes.
She was employed in customer service at Niagara Mohawk, where she worked for more than 35 years before retiring. She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher and loved going to church bazaars, cooking and cooking shows.
Mrs. Nooney is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Bonnie Nooney of North Chatham; her brother, Daniel Hayes; two grandchildren, Tara Lyn Hughes of Kinderhook and Christopher Lyle Nooney of Valatie; two great-grandsons, Travis and Brady; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her husband, Lyle J. Nooney, Jr.; her son, Wayne Nooney; twin brothers, Leo and Leonard Hayes and her brother, Frederick “Sandy” Hayes.
A calling hour will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Gladys McCrohan (1916 – 2015)
HUDSON—Gladys McCrohan, 98, of Hillsdale passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 18, 1916 in Brooklyn, daughter of August and Regina Haberer.
A homemaker, Mrs. McCrohan was an avid reader and of the Roman Catholic faith.
On January 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, she married John T. McCrohan. He predeceased her in 1994.
Survivors include: her sons, Richard A. McCrohan and Robert McCrohan, both of Hillsdale.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Leyman and Mildred Jacob.
Calling hours will be private.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 10 a.m. from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 State Route 22, Copake Falls with the Reverend George Brennan officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
