Nancy E. Spiewak (1939 – 2019)
HUDSON—Nancy E. Spiewak, 80, of Greenport passed away peacefully at Columbia Memorial Hospital Tuesday December 10, 2019.
She was born in Greenport, Columbia County, October 7, 1939 to the late Clyde and Charlotte (Hagadorn) Avery.
Mrs. Spiewak was a private duty health care aide, working locally for many years.
She will be missed by: her husband of 21 years, Peter Spiewak of Greenport, also she leaves behind her sons, Timmy Shook of Philmont, Michael Shook of Louisiana; daughter, Desiree Konkus of Greenport; one brother, Clyde Avery of Hudson; sisters, Rose Krein of Greenport, Doris Woodward of Ghent, Mabel Loomis of Philmont; many grand- and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond E. Shook, Sr., in 1995; her son, Raymond E. Shook, Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Myrdycz, and one sister, Charlotte Bonafacio.

Elsin T. Collins (1932 – 2019)
ALBANY—Elsin Ruth Talentino Collins, 87, of Valatie passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2019 surrounded by family at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center after a long illness.
Born January 30, 1932 in Oneida, she was the eldest daughter of Victor and Hilda Talentino.
She lived in the Oneida area most of her life until moving to Tucson, Arizona in the 1980s. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and enjoyed many hobbies including playing cards, traveling, clogging, singing, ukulele, and basket weaving.
Survivors include: her son, Kenneth Collins (Cheryl) of Stafford; daughter, Christine Iselo (Pete) of Bangor, PA; six grandchildren, Neal Schneider (Heidi) of Oneida, Christine and Jennifer Wood of Valatie, Ryan Collins (Lancy) of Cortland, Brianne Harlow (Rob) of Valley Cottage, Peter Jacob Iselo of Bangor, PA; six beautiful great-grandchildren; her brother, Arnold Talentino (Win) of Cortland; her sister, Delphine (Nina) Kryzak and” leetle brother” Tom of Altamont; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Collins; son, Timothy Collins and daughter, Deborah Wood Zanin.
There are no calling hours or funeral services according to her wishes. A celebration of a life well-lived will be held at a later date. She will be buried in the Verona Cemetery in Verona. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Richard J. Alamillo (1951 – 2019)
OLD CHATHAM—Richard “Rich” John Alamillo, 68, of Old Chatham passed away suddenly at his home December 11, 2019.
He was born in Great Barrington, MA, to Raymond Alamillo and Mary Dodds Alamillo, June 25, 1951. He enjoyed his younger years living in North Hillsdale and working at an early age delivering milk for his uncle. He worked alongside his father, Ray,
who instilled an everlasting love of the construction trade. He was captain of the Roeliff Jansen High School football team, and he helped lead them to a 1968 undefeated season and a football championship. Following graduation, he accepted a University of Miami football scholarship, but declined due to an injury.
He attended Columbia-Greene Community College before entering the construction business with his father. He eventually started his own construction and concrete businesses with framing being his area of expertise. He was happiest working, but also enjoyed being with his family and close friends.
He was a faithful NY Giants fan. He enjoyed softball, kayaking, snowshoeing, and riding his Harley. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. One of his most memorable moments was his 2018 Grand Canyon trip with his daughters.
He is survived by: his two loving daughters, Marilyn Saunders (Tom) of East Greenbush and Amy Larmon (Tommy) of Greenwich; his sister, Carla Anselmini of Egremont, MA; his seven grandchildren, Tyler, Katie, and Laura (Amy) and Anthony, Alyssa, Mia and Cash (Marilyn), as well as a nephew, niece, and great-niece.
Memorial services will be held at the North Hillsdale Methodist Church, 1012 SR Exten, CR 21 (off of Route 22) Hillsdale, Friday, December 20 at 2 p.m.

Alma E. Farrell (1925 – 2019)
ALBANY—Alma (Nelson) Farrell, age 94, of East Greenbush died peacefully while surrounded by her family Thursday, December 12, 2019.
Born April 24, 1925 in Craryville, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha (Getschel) Nelson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Farrell; siblings, Olive Michael, Griffin Nelson, Beth Muth and Helen Carlson.
She was the mother of Richard (Louise) Farrell of Valatie, Ronald (Mark Bechard) Farrell of Albany, David Farrell of Valatie and the late Marilyn (Mike) Scoons; grandmother of Gretchen (Kristen) Guenther-Collins, Todd (Erin) Farrell, Eric Guenther, Brent (Sarah) Farrell, Ross (Elaina Heagerty) Farrell, Catherine Farrell and Emily Farrell; great-grandmother of Eloise, Bennett, Ryan, Reed and Simon; sister of Laura Hubbard, Brandt (Almeda) Nelson. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Harry Carlson and Edgar Muth along with many, many nieces and nephews.
The family sends their thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Teresian House, who “showed amazing compassion, care and support for Alma.”
Relatives and friends attended calling hours Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at St. Mary’s Church 163 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer. A funeral Mass followed. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.

Bonnie L. Moskaluk (1945 – 2019)
ALBANY—Bonnie Lee Moskaluk, 74, a lifelong Claverack resident, died December 13, 2019 at Albany Medical Center.
Born February 28, 1945 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Earl F. and Helen E. (Hoffman) Hotaling. She was a cook and dishwasher at the former Rigor Hill Diner in Austerlitz for many years.
She will be greatly missed by: her boyfriend, Delbert Rivenburg; her son, John Moskaluk and his girlfriend Renee Windover; her daughter, Bonnie M. Moskaluk and her fiance’ Ricky Osborn; brother, Earl (Pam) Hotaling; one sister, Helen (Rick) Sponholz; grandchildren, Michelle and Ryan as well as her former husband and still friend, John (Pat) Moskaluk. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Marion Hoyt.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements for a January 11, 2020 memorial service at the Sacco Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport are incomplete and will be announced.

Ruthann C. Fingar (1943 – 2019)
ALBANY—Ruthann (Cook) Fingar, 76, a long-time resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Inn at St Peters.
She was born in 1943 in Jersey City, NJ.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lee Fingar; her mother, Ruth “Marne” Harper and her brother, Daniel Cook. She is survived by: her son, Ray Nawrocki and his wife Amanda and her daughter Jodi Wilson and her husband David; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves her devoted emotional support dog, Sammy.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019, 11 a.m. at West Ghent Reformed Church Cemetery.

William J. Amato (1990 – 2019)
STANFORDVILLE—William “Billy” J. Amato, 29, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019.
He was a graduate of Stissing Mountain High School, Pine Plains, and Columbia-Greene Community College. He had moved to Fayetteville, NC, before returning to the area several months ago. He had worked in construction and as a painter with his father.
Mr. Amato was a sports enthusiast. He had played football and track and enjoyed the gym and weight lifting. He also loved fishing, kayaking and being at the ocean.
Born November 7, 1990 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Peter Amato and Michelle (Morse) Amato.
In addition to his parents he is also survived by: his brother, Trevor Amato; maternal grandparents, Robert and Suzanne Morse; paternal grandfather, Peter Amato; 12 aunts and uncles, Robert Morse, Barbara Thomas, Joseph Morse, Rena Morse, Lisa Morse Pratt, Lori Morse, Russel Amato, Kathy Piscano, Susan Santora, Erin Cordes and Jayme Watt; and many cousins.
He was a great person and friend. He was very close to his cousins, Steven and Richard Newkirk, Ryan, Lucas and Tyler Amato and Tony Salerno; as well as his lifelong friends, Kevin Kennedy, Brendan Lawless, Josh and Eric Schaffer, Sean Wessell and AJ Graffia.
Calling hours are Wednesday, December 18, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 Route 82, Pine Plains. A private Mass will be celebrated Thursday. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.

Hazel M.J. Coleman (1918 – 2019)
PHILMONT—Hazel May (Jensen) Coleman, 101, of Pumpkin Hollow Road, Taghkanic, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Home.
She was born September 30, 1918 in Hillsdale, a daughter of Fred B. and Mina A. (Race) Jensen.
A homemaker, Mrs. Coleman had previously been employed as a waitress at Murray’s Restaurant on Copake Lake.
She was a dedicated member of the West Copake Reformed Church and a member of its “Lunch Bunch.” She was also a member of the Roe Jan Young-at-Hearters and enjoyed both crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include: her son, Arthur Coleman, Jr., and wife Suzanne of Hillsdale; three grandchildren, Brian Coleman (Kelly), Michael Coleman and Amy Elliott (Todd); a great-grandchild, Miranda Elliott; a sister, Dorothy Warren of Cairo along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Coleman was predeceased by: her husband, Arthur Coleman, Sr.; a son, Allen Coleman; her siblings, Minnie Hotaling, Fredrick Jensen, Blanche McWhirt, William Jensen, Beth Coleman, Harold Jensen and Barbara Brazie.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday December 20, 2019, 11 a.m. at the West Copake Reformed Church with the Reverend Warren Siebert officiating. Interment will follow in the West Copake Cemetery.

David J. Diamanti (1952 – 2019)
CLERMONT—David J. Diamanti, 67, of Clermont, a longtime area resident, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Born May 25, 1952 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the Esther (Drum) Diamanti of Germantown and the late Chester Diamanti.
A Vietnam war veteran, Mr. Diamanti served in United States Army Infantry. He was a member of the Germantown American Legion Post #0346.
For many years, he worked as an independent contractor throughout the Hudson Valley.
In addition to his mother, Esther Diamanti of Germantown, he is survived by: his son, David (Erin) Scott Diamanti of Florida; a granddaughter, Sophia; his siblings, Christine Curcio of Rhinebeck, Bernadette (Steve) Fowler of Sheldon, IA, and Michael (Dolores) Diamanti of Germantown; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services and interment will be private at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Toni Taddeo (1937 – 2019)
GERMANTOWN—A New York Yankee fanatic and poet, Toni Taddeo went into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Saturday, December 14 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with metastatic breast and bone cancer.
She was a first generation American of Italian parents, born in New York City (the Bronx) December 27, 1937, the second oldest of five children born to Luigi (Louis) Taddeo and Domenica (Mamie) Taddeo (nee Mafrici). She moved to Germantown in 1969, a Columbia County resident for over 50 years.
She was a Christian, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother, a sister, an aunt and a friend. She retired as deputy town clerk and computer secretary from the Town of Germantown in April 2003. She also owned Yahweh Custom Sewing, where she specialized in children’s clothing and Liz Clairborne dress samples.
Ms. Taddeo was a self-taught computer expert for over 30 years, running her own computer sales and repair business. She started a computer bulletin board system in 1984, her first website in 1995 and had several worldwide websites and blogs online since then. She also is a computer graphic designer, specializing in mouse drawing graphics, pixel and pop art. She was very well-known and very loved by her many worldwide online friends.
She was a longtime member of the Southern Tier Seniors.
Ms. Taddeo is survived by: her daughter, Elena Leno of Jacksonville, Florida; her son, Louis (Betty) Leno of Bells Pond; a granddaughter, Jessica Gonzales of Leander, TX; a grandson, Dominic Golisano of Germantown; four great-grandsons, Anthony Thornburg, Alex Thornburg, Nathan Gonzales and Rian Gonzales all of Leander, TX; her sisters, Phyllis Taddeo and Louise (Bob) Costello, both of Germantown; her brother, Joseph (Josie) Taddeo of San Jose, CA; 12 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great niece; one great-great nephew; many cousins, and her Uncle David Mafrici, of Colonie.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sons, Joseph Leno, Nicholas Leno; a granddaughter, Sarah Padilla and her brother, Simeone Taddeo.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019, 2 p.m. at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 South Broadway, Red Hook. Interment will be private at the Reformed Church Cemetery, Germantown.
