OBITUARIES: Smith, Boyles, Bauhoff


William P. Smith (1937 -2016)

KINGSTON—William Peter Smith, 79, of Germantown died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Health Alliance Center.

Born July 23, 1937 in New York City, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Smith.

He had worked for the Hudson Valley Health Alliance of Kingston.

Survivors include: his wife, Faythe Smith; daughter, Marina (Brian) Hichman; two sons, William Smith and Christopher Smith; four grandchildren; two step-children, James Vincent and Ellen Vincent.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 12, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection in Germantown.

Burial will follow in the Saint Columba Cemetery Chester.

Clifford Boyles, Sr. (1929 – 2016)

POUGHKEEPSIE—Clifford “Red” Boyles, Sr., 87, a lifelong Ancramdale resident, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center.

He was born August 9, 1929 in Ancramdale, the son of the late Charles and Abbie (Brizzie) Boyles, Sr.

Mr. Boyles was an electrician at the Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill in Ancram. He retired in 1989.

He was a lifelong member of the Ancram Fire Company.

On May 15, 1949 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Pine Plains, he married Violet (Miller) Boyles. She predeceased him April 27, 2011.

Survivors include: a daughter, Cindy and her husband Larry Hoage of Lakeville, CT; a son, Clifford, Jr. and his wife Helen Boyles of Millerton; two grandchildren, Russell and his wife Lisa Hoage and Samantha Boyles; a great-granddaughter, Kirstyn Hoage; a sister, Irene Dietter of Ancramdale; a brother, Harold “Hezzie” Boyles of Ancramdale; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by: three sisters, Eleanor Cookingham, Susan Dietter and Gladys Millius; and five brothers, Russell “Bus”, William, Henry “Pete”, Charles “June” and Robert Boyles.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016, 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains, with Pastor Carol Miller officiating.

A reception will follow at the Ancram Fire Company.

Clifford Bauhoff (1948 – 2016)

VALATIE—Clifford Bauhoff, 68, of Valatie died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his home.

Born October 19, 1948 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Christian and Camilla (Clough) Bauhoff.

Mr. Bauhoff enjoyed hunting and was an avid marksman and archer. He spent a lifetime mastering his craft and was expertly skilled in the auto body field, working for Van Allen Automotive for many years.

He was a member of the Kinderhook Sportsmen’s Club, the Hudson Fish and Game Club, the Forbes Rifle and Pistol Club, the NRA and the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association.

He is survived by: his wife, Tina (VanAllen) Bauhoff; two sons, K.C. Bauhoff of Hudson and Andrew Bauhoff of Philmont; a daughter, Christine Christie of Florida; four sisters, Judith Goodrich of Maine, Linda Carhart of Indiana, Tia Carhart of Rome, NY, and Karen Lettko of Loudonville; his grandson, Easton Bauhoff and several other grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

As per Mr. Bauhoff’s wishes, traditional services will not be held. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 19 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hudson Fish and Game Club, 293 Fish and Game Road (County Route 18), Claverack.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Kinderhook Sportsmen’s Club. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
