William G. Roth (1941 – 2017)
ALBANY—William G. Roth passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Peter’s Hospital January 5, 2017 after a long illness.
He was predeceased by his parents, Florian and Charity M. (Mace) Roth.
He was born in Albany, October 20, 1941.
Mr. Roth worked for the New York State Thruway and from there went to the New York State Department of Transportation in Albany where he worked for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Coxsackie Yacht Club for more than 20 years and a member of the Tri-Village Rod and Gun Club in Valatie. He was also a dedicated amateur radio operator for more than 40 years and a member of many amateur radio groups.
He leaves behind: his wife, Joan G. Roth (Stupplebeen); his son, James W. Roth (Stacey) of Valatie; his daughter, Wendy C. Nooney (Aaron) of Albany; three grandchildren, Johnathon J. Roth of Castleton, Cristina C. Carswell (Obie) of TN, Brandon W. Roth of Valatie; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie E. Carswell, Olivia S. Roth, Ryker J. Carswell, Amelia G. Carswell and Danica P. Roth.
There will be no calling hours and graveside services will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his name to the Tri-Village Rod and Gun Club of Valatie, the National Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Bernice Rushkoski (1920 – 2017)
LIVINGSTON—Bernice Rushkoski, lovingly known to all as “Aunt Bea,” passed away at the age of 96, January 6, 2017 at the Livingston Hills Nursing Facility.
Born May 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Rushkoski, who were immigrants from Poland.
Ms. Rushkoski worked for The General Worth Hotel as a waitress until its closing, then went to work for more than 40 years for Kadin Brothers Pocketbook Factory in Hudson.
She is survived by: her brother, Stanley (Maria) Rushkoski; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Caroline Morabito; twin sister, Mary DeCrosta and brother, John Rushkoski.
Simple pleasures are what she enjoyed most. She loved playing cards, her favorite game was 500 Rummy. She also enjoyed playing bingo and loved a good cup of coffee.
She will be remembered for her big smile, her kind and gentle caring ways, and always thinking of others before herself. “We will all miss her dearly, and she will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace Aunt Bea.”
Funeral services were held Monday, January 9 from the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Martin J. Hotaling (1944 – 2017)
HUDSON—Martin “Joe” Hotaling, 72, of Lorenz Park passed away January 7, 2017.
He was born November 15, 1944 in Stuyvesant to Beryl (Manchuck) and Watson Hotaling.
He was a graduate of Rensselaer High School, “but faith would reunite him with his Union Street love and together they would make Hudson their forever home.”
He was employed at IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie for 28 years before his retirement. He went on to work for the United States Post Office and Hudson River Bank and Trust. He was a man of many trades and shared all he knew—the most unselfish man there was. His devotion to his children was forever visible as their coach, friend and everlasting supporter. “Mets fans we will always be because of him!”
Mr. Hotaling leaves behind: his devoted wife of 53 years, Benita (Sacco); his three children, Bryan(Marcella), Michele, and Debbie (Chet); his most precious grandson, Joshua Michael was his best friend; “these two shared an inseparable bond that will forever be eternal.”
His family would not be complete without Clarence, Matthew, and Carter Martin Chase being in it.
He is survived by: his brothers, Ed Hotaling of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Steve Hotaling of Hudson; many nieces and nephews.
His adored sister, Janet Jackson; brother, Robert, and niece, Karen Keil predeceased him.
Visitation hours will be Thursday, January 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 13, 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Holy Trinity Church in Hudson.

Kevin A. LeClair (1966 – 2017)
CHATHAM—Kevin A. LeClair, Sr., 50, of Chatham died peacefully at home Saturday, January 7 after a long illness.
He was the husband of Jacqueline (Leck) LeClair.
Born March 12, 1966 in Hudson, he was the son of Sandra and the late Joseph LeClair.
Graduating from Chatham High, he played baseball, bowled and was a frequent visitor of detention.
He raced stock cars at Lebanon Valley for years, causing many a gray hair for his mother. He loved being under the hood of car tinkering with an engine. Later he worked in construction and enjoyed playing with dirt. He could drive anything with a motor, including trucks for Sunnyside Garage, where he enjoyed helping stranded motorists. He was an avid fan of Harley-Davidson, the Dallas Cowboys and—the man—Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
Mr. LeClair was a giving person and performed numerous good deeds for others, many of which were never known. He enjoyed coaching little league for his children and cheering them on no matter what sport they played.
Surviving are: his mother; wife; children, Nicholas Wadman, Kevin, Jr., and DeAnna LeClair; sister, Michelle LeClair, all of Chatham; brother, Brian LeClair of Cohoes; nephews and many cousins.
There will be a celebration of Mr. LeClair’s life Saturday, January 14 at Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue, Chatham beginning at 11 a.m. with a remembrance at noon. Friends may join the family at the American Legion in Chatham immediately after for refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Chatham Rescue Squad or the Tri-Village Fire Department.
Linda Joyce Brink (1953 – 2017)
HUDSON—Linda Joyce Brink, 63, of Hudson died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born July 3, 1953 in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late George, Jr. and Marie (Clevland) Brink.
She is survived by: her children, Donald, William Casivant, Tom Stay, Melissa Brink and Edna Casivant; sisters, Diane Johnson and Maryann Brink; grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Mazerolle, Aiden and Katy Casivant.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Charlie Brink.

Juanita E. Mendizabal (1923 – 2017)
CATSKILL—Juanita Esperanza Mendizabal, 93, of Hudson died peacefully Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Pines at Catskill. Born in El Salvador, May 16, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Miguel and Maria Esther (Villeda) Huezo.
Mrs. Mendizabal was a self-employed event photographer for many years and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Hudson.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family including: daughters and sons, Esperanza Hansen, Manuel Vincent Mendizabal, Herberth A. Mendizabal, Armida Bittrolff and Alma Mendizabal Merlos; many brothers and sisters in El Salvador; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Vincent Mendizabal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 12, 2017, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Colleen M. LoPresti (1950 – 2017)
WEST LEBANON—Colleen M. LoPresti, 66, of West Lebanon passed away January 4, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Lorraine Backstrum and the late George W. Mahar.
Mrs. LoPresti loved crocheting and cooking and would have cooking competitions with her husband, Roy who predeceased her in 2011.
She is survived by: her mother, Lorraine Backstrum; son, Joseph LoPresti (Lisa Casey); daughters, Tina (Mike Massara) LoPresti and Lisa (John Archer) LoPresti; sisters, Patricia O’Donovan and Nancy (Robert) Cameron; grandchildren, Brittany Eggleston, Caitlyn LoPresti, Tyler LoPresti and Tiffany Eggleston.
