Ethlyn Rhymaun (1977 – 2023)
HUDSON—Ethlyn Rhymaun, 45, of Hudson passed Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany September 14, 1977, she is survived by her parents Delroy Williams and Patricia (Harris) Williams. In addition to her parents she is survived by: her children, Rhymondo Rhymaun, Seantavia Lee, Charlee Walker and Asia Walker; her brothers, Delroy and Devon Williams. She was predeceased by one son, Ramar Rhymaun, her brother, Cory Velazquez and sister, Konica Miller.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church in Stottville. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sacco Funeral Home, Greenport.
Olga Hawryluk (1931 – 2023)
STUYVESANT—Olga Hawryluk, 91, of Stuyvesant passed away peacefully with her son at her side, Friday, February 24, 2023. Born in Ukraine, March 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Maria Witiuk and the wife of the late Bohdan Hawryluk.
She is survived by: her children, Vera (Joseph) Baco of Allons, TN, and Basil Hawryluk of Stuyvesant; her sister-in-law, Oxana Witiuk of Astoria; her grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas and Jillian Baco; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Katelyn and Emily Baco; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ivan, Myron and Bohdan Witiuk and Iwanka Kozuipa.
A calling hour will be held Friday, March 3 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. at the Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 206 Union Street, Hudson with the Very Reverend Canon Zbigniew Brzezicki officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Cemetery, 141 Sarah Wells Trails, Campbell Hall, NY.
Robert W. Berry (1931 – 2023)
TAGHKANIC—Robert William Berry, 91, passed away February 22, 2023 with his wife by his side. He was born in Hudson, September 5, 1931 to the late Minnie (Philips) and Edmond Berry. He was one of four children and had two sisters and one brother. He was a graduate of Hudson High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army from 1953 through 1955. On September 16, 1962, he married the love of his life Joan Roberts and moved to Taghkanic where they raised a daughter, Jean. They were married for 60 years.
Mr. Berry was a hardworking man. He learned to repair sewing machines and made a living at it working at the many textile factories in the Hudson area. When he was not busy at work, he was always doing something around his home and enjoying his family.
Mr. Berry is survived by: his wife, Joan Berry; daughter, Jean and son-in-law Walter Einker and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Minnie and Edmond Berry; sisters, Judith Pupman and Myrtle Berry and brother, Raymond Berry.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 2201 County Route 27 Churchtown. Arrangements are with the Bates and Anderson- Redmnd and Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Patricia Brundage (1938 – 2023)
HUDSON—Patricia Brundage, 84, of Hudson passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023. Born April 14, 1938 in Hudson, she was the daughter of Chester and Elizabeth (Frese) Groat.
She graduated from Hudson High School in the Class of 1956. She then attended SUNY Oneonta and was in the sorority Alpha Delta Beta. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in education in 1960. “Pat” then taught in the Hudson City School District starting in 1968 and retired in 1999. Activities she enjoyed included spending time in Bolton Landing, arts and crafts, and playing the piano. She loved all animals, especially dogs. She was a very active member of St. John’s Emmanuel Church and the Women’s Glee Club.
She is survived by: her son, Scott Brundage; granddaughter, Christina Brundage-Sapcoe and her spouse Ashley Sapcoe; grandson, Jeffrey Brundage; her sister, Nancy Groat-Denegar (husband Keith); nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Tim) Baldwin and Debra (George) Kazantzis; along with great-nieces and -nephews, Katherine Baldwin, Philip Kazantzis and Elizabeth Kazantzis.
Visitation hours at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson will be held Thursday, March 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services, also at the funeral home, will be Friday, March 3, 10 a.m. Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Everlasting Hope Animal Rescue, 180 Prach Road, Hillsdale 12529, or Columbia-Greene Humane Society, Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534.
Betty L. Foss (1928 – 2023)
PHILMONT—Betty L. Foss, 94, of Hudson passed away at the Pine Haven Nursing Home, February 27, 2023.
Born in Spring Hill, West Virginia, September 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maysel (Barker) Hill and the wife of the late Charles J. Foss.
Before her retirement, she was a clerk for 12 years of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors, Hudson then went on to work part-time for the Health Care Consortium, Hudson for 13 years.
She is survived by: her children, Lori (Don) Grinbalsky of Salem and Timothy Laurange of Niverville; her siblings, William Hill of Raritan, NJ, and Jane Hill of South Bound Brook, NJ; her grandchildren, Nathan and Jillique Laurange as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Monday, March 6, 10 a.m. to noon at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Funeral services will be at noon with the Reverend Dan Cohn officiating. Burial will follow at the Ghent Union Cemetery.
Contributions in Mrs. Foss’ name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
