Linda L. Pough (1954 – 2020)
HUDSON—Linda L. Pough, 66, recently of Hudson, died peacefully Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hudson September 9, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Dorothy (Bolton) Stalker.
She was employed at the Firemen’s Home in Hudson for many years in the housekeeping department.

John M. Rybka, Jr. (1961 – 2021)
VALATIE—John Michael Rybka, Jr., of Valatie was taken to his eternal resting place January 4, 2021.
He was born in Hudson to John, Sr., and Pamela (Davis) Rybka, September 21, 1961. He graduated in 1980 from Ichabod Crane. He immediately went to work for the NYS Department of Corrections and retired in 2017. He was currently working as a driver for Coxsackie Transport. For many years, he had a passion for harness horses and even has his NYS harness horse training license.
Mr. Rybka loved his family more than anything in his entire world. He loved his daughter and was so proud of her. His love was also great for his nieces and nephews and also his great nieces. He was best friends with his two siblings and will forever be in everyone’s heart.
He is survived by: his beautiful daughter, McKenzie Rybka, 21, of Valatie; his parents, John and Pamela Rybka of Kinderhook; a sister, Michelle Pullen (Michael) of Palmetto, FL; his brother, Darren Rybka, Sr., of Porter Corners; his nephews, Jeremy (Solomia), Darren, Jr., and Steven; his niece, Alli (Mavist); his great-nieces, Milah and Paisley; his godmother, Rosemary Stainkamp of Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Michael and Claire Rybka and Maurice and Katharine Davis.
There will be a celebration of life in the future. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as Mr. Rybka had a big heart when it came to children. Barbara G. Block (1932 – 2021)
SCHODACK LANDING—Barbara (Golden) Block, 88, passed peacefully January 5, 2021.
Residing in Schodack Landing her entire life, she was raised on the Golden Dairy Farm and peddled milk mornings before school. In 1954 she married Michael “Checker” Block.
She held jobs at Albany Felt, IGA, Grossman’s and Barnwell Nursing Home. She enjoyed fishing at Knickerbocker Lake and Long Lake, and playing cards with neighbors; but bingo, horse races and slots at various casinos delighted her most.
Always spunky and witty, she remembered everything. Her stories, laughter and bossiness will be missed by all.
Mrs. Block was a lifetime member at the Schodack Landing Fire Company Auxiliary.
She is survived by: sons, Mick and Tim; daughter, Shelley Epting; six grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Ryan Block, Kristin and Steven Epting; two great-grandchildren, Mike and Tyler Block; brothers, Kenny (Linda) and Glenn Golden.
In 2012 she was predeceased by her husband.

Kenneth Folmsbee (1972 – 2021)
STUYVESANT—Kenneth Smith Folmsbee, 48, of Stuyvesant, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home.
He was born November 18, 1972 in Hudson.
He is survived by: his husband, Scott Folmsbee; mother-in-law, Roberta Shields “Mom,” (Raymond Shields); his mother, Barbara Rideout of Cairo; his brother, Kevin Rideout (Jennifer) of Germantown; three sisters; two nephews, Dillon and Deven Rideout and several other nieces and nephews; a cousin, Betty Ann Race of Catskill and his close to the heart friends, Mandy Lasher, Bear Carinci, Carolyn Smith “Mama,” Cindy Rivenburg, Rebecca Alamillo, Katlyn Shook and many more.

David O. Perry (1933 – 2021)
GHENT—David Oliver Perry passed away January 7 at Ghent Nursing and Rehab of natural causes.
He was born August 5, 1933 to Adelaide (D’Ornellas) and David O. Perry. He was raised by his step-father, James Delsignore, whom he admired deeply.
During his childhood, he lived in Troy, Watervliet and Hopewell, VA, and graduated from Troy High and Hudson Valley Community College.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, spending most of his enlistment at Augsburg, West Germany. Mr. Perry was able to see most of Europe, with his twin brother and best friend, Leslie. But he fell in love with Italy, returning there three times. Corporal Perry was awarded the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army Overseas Medal (Germany).
During his early career days he worked for Honeywell and Xerox and married his wife, Shirley (Almstead) Perry in 1958. In 1960 he began working for NYS Department of Mental Hygiene in Albany where he would remain until retirement. After several years living in Coeymans Hollow, they relocated to the Philmont/Mellenville area with their two children in 1968. “Dave” quickly became an active member of the community. One of his first purchases upon building their home was a farm tractor which he used to move things about his property and open his neighbors driveways from the snowplow wall after storms before heading off to Albany for work.
One of his favorite life-long activities was participating in drum corps. As a young man, he was a member of the Troy Grenadiers as a drummer. He later helped to create the drum line for the Philmont Fire Company. He was a member of the Second Reformed Church of Claverack in Philmont. He was a member of the Consistory, an Elder, and taught the High School Sunday school class. He often filled in for the pastors on their vacations for Sunday services. He was also a proud member and past commander of the American Legion Minkler-Seery Post 252 in Philmont where he rarely missed a Thursday Bingo night, or a Memorial Day Parade until he lost his mobility. He enjoyed representing the American Legion at public events awarding scholarships and donations to various organizations. He also was the unofficial village television repairman until they became disposable items, when he then progressed with the times and became the unofficial village computer guy, setting up home computer systems for people tailored for their needs. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s he volunteered to be a part of research on the disease at the University of Rochester for several years.
Mr. Perry loved reading, movies, using the internet, spending time with his grandchildren, tinkering on anything from cars to computers, and serving his community. Many will remember him as a regular at the Stewart’s in Philmont, getting his coffee and scratch-offs, and catching up on all the news with the other retired gentlemen in town.
Surviving are: a daughter, Rebecca (Chip) Martin of Cairo; a son, Aaron (Christine) Perry of Greenport; a sister, Lonee Goins of WA; grandchildren, Tyler Perry, Kylie Weaver, Carolyn Weaver, Ian Perry and Carson Weaver; great-grandsons, Kenneth Krapf, III, and Ashton Krapf; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Shirley; his twin brother, Leslie; siblings, Robert, Ruth Maccagnano and grandson, Bradley Weaver.
There will be a service in the spring in better times.

Annette S. Romanoff (1959 – 2021)
CHATHAM—Annette Siverson Romanoff passed peacefully January 6, 2021, after a long illness, with her husband, David at her side.
Born August 18, 1959 to Marvin and Mary Siverson in Brooklyn, she attended St. Joseph High School and CUNY College of Staten Island. She began her career in New York City as a paralegal and office manager for the Law Office of Joseph Gatti. After moving to Chatham with her husband in 2002, she was an assistant at the Chatham Public Library, and then became office manager at Romanoff Products Inc.
She will be remembered with great fondness by the loving family she left behind: her husband, David; brothers, Martin (Lalaine) and nephew Philip, and William (Marilyn) and niece Jackie; brother-in-law, Alan and nieces Juen, Anne, Nora (Joe), Jeanne, and nephew John (Diana); special friends, Ron
Bernstein, Suzanne Williams, Rebecca Gordon, Kaarin and Bob Lemstrom-Sheedy, Kyla Malmberg and her bonus nephews Parker and Travis; her precious fur babies, Lambert, Thumper, Wiley and Augie.
She will always be remembered for her artistry in all things hand-crafted. Her love of books and reading was of great enjoyment to her during her long illness, enabling her to explore, long after her body would not allow.
She received the very best of care and comfort in her last years by her caregivers, they were her angels here on Earth, her case managers, Katherine and Karen; her aides, Margie, Karen, Bonnie, Shalin, Katie, Dawn, Barbara, Jess, Heather and Cher.

Harold M. Maresco (1941 – 2021)
ALBANY—Harold Martin Maresco, age 79, of Niverville passed into the presence of his savior Thursday, January, 7, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a long illness.
He was born May 14, 1941 in Bakersfield, CA, the son of Blanche Emmons and Floyd M. McPhail. His mother later married Michael A. Maresco of Hudson and they moved to Hudson when Harold was a small child. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1959 and then joined the Air Force, serving for eight years as a radar repair technician, spending four years in Japan and two years in West Berlin. He returned to Hudson and resided there until 1979, when he was married to Gretchen Mills. He resided in Niverville since that date.
Mr. Maresco had worked for Kimberly-Clark in Ancram, for the office of Gov. Mario Cuomo, and at the time of his retirement, was the supervisor of the mailroom at the NY State Education Department in Albany.
His survivors include: his wife; a son, David Maresco of East Chatham; a daughter, Julie Johnson (Lucas) of Niverville; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Banta Breslin of Van Nuys, CA; a sister, Janet Gregory of Hudson; two brothers, Michael Maresco (Nancy) of Claverack and Steven Maresco of Stotttville; two grandsons, Malakai and Konnor Maresco of Dacula, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Karl; and his sister, Phyllis Faschingbauer (Joe) of San Antonio, TX.
He was a member of the Clearview Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Schodack. He enjoyed traveling and viewing the wildlife and the wonderful scenery of many of the nation’s National Parks. He had a love for music and history and was knowledgeable on many varied subjects. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his sense of humor, his sweet and kind nature, and his willingness to help others.
Calling hours will be held Monday, January 11 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street (Route 9), Valatie, followed by a funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Nick Becker. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Valatie Tuesday, January 12 at 11 a.m.

Bonny L. LaRock (1959 – 2021)
ALBANY—Bonny Lee LaRock, 62, passed away peacefully with her loving daughter by her side January 4, 2021 at Albany Medical Center due to complications from illnesses.
Born April 22,1959 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Bertha (Beaumont) Welch, Sr.
She attended Hudson High School where she enjoyed her time as a color guard in the Continental Cadets. She worked for more than 20 years at L&B Furniture Industries in Hudson until its closure, which led her to find employment at The Philmont Hearth.
Ms. LaRock loved family gatherings, playing horseshoes, camping and picnicking. She spent many hours in her yard decorating her flower garden and pond of which she was always proud. She was also a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees. She absolutely loved the local live music scene; she could be found all summer long line dancing her heart out at the local parks. The 217 Band with her brother on drums was definitely her favorite jam.
Cherished memories and smiles remain in the hearts of her beloved companion, Harvey Scraper of Philmont ; her only daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Richard Zucco of Valatie. She is also survived by: her brother, Willard (Linda) Welch of Chatham; Sabrina’s father, Edward Stanhope; former husband and good friend, David LaRock; nephew, Glen Welch; nieces, Melanie, Tara and Kimberly Welch.
She was predeceased by her brother, Roger Welch.

Andrew J. Baldwin, Jr. (1938 – 2021)
COHOES—Andrew J. Baldwin, Jr., 82, of East Greenbush passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at The Eddy Village Green.
Born December 1, 1938 in Washington, D.C., he was the only son of the late Andrew J. and Anne (Flatley) Baldwin, Sr.
He graduated from LaSalle Military Institute in 1956 and earned his undergraduate degree from Siena College in 1960. “Andy” earned his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 1963, where he was a member of the Law Review. He married his wife of 58 years, Ann (Foley) Baldwin August 18, 1962 and in October 1963 interviewed with the law firm of Daley and Zittel. He returned home from the interview and informed his wife that they were moving to a small town called Hillsdale, New York. They packed up their few belongings and their infant daughter and moved to the community they called home for almost the next 50 years.
Mr. Baldwin loved serving the people of Hillsdale and Columbia County through the law firm Daley and Baldwin, and with his wife, raised his four children there. He served his community through the Lions Club, five years of service as a Board of Education member and board president of the Taconic Hills Central School District, president of the Columbia County Bar Association, town attorney for the Town of Ancram, and as a trustee and finance committee member at Our Lady of Hope (formerly St. Bridget’s Catholic Church). Mr. Baldwin treasured the friendships he made through his work, civic contributions, and leisure. His family is incredibly grateful for the community and these friendships.
In retirement he enjoyed extensive travel with his wife and together they explored Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Russia.
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife, Ann are: his children, Kathleen (Fritz) Schnackenberg of Moreau; Andrew (Diane) Baldwin of Scotch Plains, NJ; Dr. Karen (Kathryn) Baldwin of Hartford, CT, and Stephen Baldwin of Danbury, CT; his grandchildren, Adam and Ryan Schnackenberg, Elizabeth and Andrew James Baldwin, Amina, Eliyaan, and Safina Shakeel, and a niece and nephew.
The family will return to the community they all call home to lay their husband and father to rest. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22, Copake.
In accordance with state guidelines, the entrance to the funeral home will be regulated, social distancing and masks will also be required.
