Carol O’Connor (1940 – 2019)
CEDAR POINT, NC—Carol O’Connor, 79, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side.
She was born January 10, 1940 in New York City, daughter of the late Harry and Helen Cox Swift.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at a later date in New York.
She was a travel agent with AAA for many years, helping many families enjoy their vacation and time away with family. She also worked at State Bank of Albany as a bank teller in Chatham.
She is survived by: her husband, Donald O’Connor of the home; daughters, Lori Sims (John) of Zebulon, NC, and Kristin Sprague of Raleigh, NC; stepchildren, David O’Connor (Leslie), Donald O’Connor, Jr., (Susan), Darren O’Connor and Mary Geel (Scott); grandchildren, Crystal Wilson, Alisha VanArken, Kayla Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Ryan Sprague, Bobby O’Connor, Danny, Sam and Andrew O’Connor, Adam and Gideon Geell; sister, Audrey Kiel of West Palm Beach, FL, and Sandy Baker of Valatie.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Meatyard and grandson, Brian O’Connor.

Carol A. Miller (1947 – 2019)
GHENT–Carol Ann Miller, 71, who passed away quietly early Tuesday morning, May 7, lived a life full of family and friends, with a no-nonsense attitude and a dry sense of humor and honesty. She was much loved and valued for her loyalty, thoughtfulness and mental acuity.
She is survived by: her devoted husband of 50 years, Jon; her two daughters, Kristen Miller and Jennifer Brennan, their respective husbands, Richard Schneider and Christopher Brennan, and her three incredible grandchildren, Sophie (13), Alex (13) and Conner (9) Brennan.
Mrs. Miller was born in Hudson, and lived her life in Philmont and Ghent. She graduated from Taconic Hills High School, worked at the Philmont Pharmacy and retired from the Oswald D. Heck Developmental Center in Schenectady in 2011.
She spent her retired years in her house on the hill—gardening, reading and socializing.
Calling hours will be held at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The burial will be follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Miller’s memory to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Lynn M. Strunk (1929 – 2019)
KINDERHOOK—Lynn M. Strunk, age 89, departed this world for heaven, Saturday May 11, 2019.
Born in Little Falls, she was the daughter of Frank Martinovic and Paulina Martinovic.
Mrs. Strunk is survived by: her daughters, Mary Stunk (Tony Mustari) and Aimee Strunk-Reinoehl (Michael Reinoehl); grandchildren, Summer and Madelynn Reinoehl.
She was predeceased by her late husband, Joseph Strunk.
Mrs. Strunk was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother and a loyal and loving friend to many. She cherished those relationships throughout her life. Her family and friends were blessed by her presence in their lives and her loving and compassionate spirit will be forever remembered by those she touched.
She was a successful business women owning and operating Lynn M. Strunk Realty for more than 30 years.
In 1958, her strong belief and devotion to family led her and other state trooper’s wives to organize an effort to have the state reduce the work week from 126 hours to 60 hours.
She and her dear friend, Hilah Grenci, on behalf of all of the trooper’s wives and with the support of Assemblyman Willard Drumm and others, petitioned the governor for this change. Later that year the governor approved their request.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie, Wednesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. to celebrate her life.
