Harry Moskaluk (1942 – 2015)
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Harry Moskaluk, 72 of Elizaville passed away suddenly June 12, 2015.
Often called “Hap,” he was born in Hudson, November 19, 1942. He was a kind and gentle man and it is best said that he was a jack-of-all-trades. Mr. Moskaluk served in the U.S. Army and since his retirement from Verizon, he has spent his time enjoying life; golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Moskaluk is survived by: his beloved wife, Nancy Johnson-Moskaluk; his daughter, Amy and her husband Shawn; his son, Brian and his wife Helena; six grandchildren; five step-children; 14 step-grandchildren; his brother, John; his sister, Cissy and numerous extended family members.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joe, Sr. and Flo and his brother, Joe, Jr.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

Vivian R. Williams (1923 – 2015)
KINDERHOOK—Vivian Rockwell Williams, 91, of Kinderhook passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, June 13, 2015.
She was born in Newtown, CT, to the late Stephen Edmund Rockwell and Elizabeth (Carl) Rockwell, September 21, 1923.
She was one of 13 children and is survived by her younger sister, Vera (Rockwell) Coghill.
Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, Samuel B. Williams. They married September 21, 1942 and were partners at Grandview Farms in West Redding, CT. In 1958 they purchased a farm in Kinderhook. Through hard work, determination and the help of their children and grandchildren, the herd was built from 36 cows to the thriving business it is today—Wil-Roc Farms.
Mrs. Williams is survived by: her nine children, George S., Samuel B., Jr., (Cindy), John R. (Angie), Vivian M. Becker (Stephen), Virginia M. Becker (Nicholas), Kenneth P. (Kathleen), Victoria M. Dick (Craig), Carl M. (Kelley), and Craig A.
She was blessed to know her 19 grandchildren: Nathaniel, Hannah, Jared (Laura), Samuel (Melinda), Meghan (died in infancy), Greggory, Braden, Cody (Amanda), Alyssa, Isaac, Seth (Tana), Rachel, Taylor, Zachary, Emily, Kaitlin, Mikayla (Dovantai), Andrew and John; as well as, two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Sawyer.
She was known as “Mother” to many, especially to Kevin Williams (Karin) whom she raised as her own for most of his childhood.
In her later years she had time to enjoy her lifelong interests of writing, painting and sewing. For her 80th birthday she wrote a memoir titled Mother’s Memories which she later revised and published for her 90th birthday along with some of her short stories, poetry and paintings.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 18, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 19, 2 p.m. at the funeral home, interment follows at Woodlawn Cemetery, Niverville. Memorial donations may be made to the Vivian and Samuel Williams Memorial Scholarship awarded to a student at Ichabod Crane going on to pursue a career in agriculture. Diane Lasher (1948 – 2015)
SHARON, CT—Diane Lasher, 67, of Sharon, CT, died Sunday, June 14 at the Sharon Hospital.
Born April 14, 1948 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Anna May (Race) Lasher.
Survivors include: three sisters, Lillian Lasher of Hudson, Rosemary Rowen of Greenport, Patty Ploss of MA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Philip Lasher and two sisters, Alice Beck and Elvena Bogucki.

Robert J. Fritz (1923- 2015)
GHENT—Robert J. Fritz, Sr., formerly of Niskayuna, died peacefully Sunday, June 14. He was 92.
He was born in New Orleans, June 5, 1923. As a kid he enjoyed the Mardi Gras and masqueraded each year in a different costume. His family consisted of four boys and an older sister. He attended Tulane University. When the Tulane professor interviewed students for a scholarship, he missed the appointment because he was off taking military training. He did receive a partial scholarship, though, and the job of keeping Tulane’s engineering equipment in good shape.
At Tulane he was invited into a national engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, and Sigma Xi, a scientific society. He graduated first in his class.
When he took a test to become a naval ensign, he surprised the recruiting naval officer by his quick handling of the examination. While in the Navy, he was sent for radar training at Princeton where he was fortunate to meet Albert Einstein.
Upon leaving the Navy, Mr. Fritz took a job working for General Electric in Schenectady, developing civilian and naval nuclear power. He rapidly learned vibration, shock, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. He was able to develop quiet and safe naval equipment.
Mr. Fritz was, at one time, the acting supervisor of former president Jimmy Carter, who came to Schenectady to work on nuclear submarines under Captain Hyman Rickover.
He received master’s degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering from Union College and a PhD in mechanical engineering from RPI. His doctoral studies included vibrating fluids and structures.
Mr. Fritz is survived by: his wife of 68 years, Florence Eleanor Fritz; their four children, Becky Fritz of Rochester, Robert J. Fritz, Jr., of Glendale, CA, Amy Bairstow of Concord, NH, Karen Fritz of Valatie and nine grandchildren.

Marie C. Tanner-Whyman (1926 – 2015)
MILLERTON—Marie C. Tanner-Whyman, 88, a 55-year-resident of Millerton, formerly of Ancram, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Ms. Tanner-Whyman worked at the Wassaic Developmental Center from October 28, 1957 until her retirement February 28, 1988. She began her career as a direct care aide which led her to a position in environmental services.
Born July 16, 1926 in Ancram, she was the daughter of the late Ellwood O. and Ethel (Hoysradt) Cade.
On November 4, 1966 in Ancram, she married John R. Tanner. Mr. Tanner died October 28, 1971. On July 13, 1973 in Cadyville, she married William W. Whyman. Mr. Whyman died June 3, 1994.
Ms. Tanner-Whyman was a member of the Millerton Presbyterian Church and was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, traveling, gardening, country music and going to casinos. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her loving family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Ms. Tanner-Whyman is survived by: her two daughters, Verna J. Ahders (Fred) of Dickinsen Center and Lynn E. Cahill of Millerton; five grandchildren, Robert A. Snyder (Dorothy) of Chateaugay, John A. Snyder (Lynn) of Amenia, Tammy M. Farrell of Chateaugay, Lesa Farrell of Millerton and John E. Cahill (Cynthia) of Tivoli; 11 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Adam, Briana, Kayla and Casandra Snyder, Erica Finkle, Bowie LaRock, Charity and Jasmine Farrell, Nicholas and Brandon Cahill; two step-great-grandchildren, Alexis and Samantha Williamson; her brother, Herbert Cade (Barbara) of Claverack; two sisters, Barbara Rodriquez (Carlos) of Highland and Catherine Spaulding of Millerton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by: her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Snyder: a son-in-law, John E. Cahill, Sr.; her brothers, John Ashman and Oliver “Sonny” Cade and her sister, Marcella Wilson.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. at the Millerton Presbyterian Church, 58 Main Street, Millerton. The Reverend Zora Ficarra-Cheatham will officiate.
