Mary V. McCoy (1939 – 2015)
HUDSON—Mary V. McCoy, 75, of Hudson passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side, Saturday, March 21, 2015. She joins her beloved husband of 53 years, Terrence F. McCoy. She was under the care of Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. McCoy was a graduate of Albany High School and furthered her education by graduating with a cosmetology degree and became a beautician. She later worked for Walmart in Greenport in the one hour photo department.
With a passion for taking pictures, she enjoyed showing her family and friends the memories she captured with her camera. Mrs. McCoy was very pleased to be involved with several groups and organizations including her volunteer work as a “Pink Lady” at CMH, as well as a devoted member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Mrs. McCoy was also a House of Lloyd representative, selling Christmas Around the World. She worked very hard to earn trips so she and her husband could travel to Egypt, Italy, Hawaii and many other destinations. Throughout her life, Mrs. McCoy battled numerous types of cancer, had surgeries and remained strong. Her loved ones admired her strength. She was a well-liked person, who leaves behind many, many friends “as everyone knew who Mary McCoy was.”
Born in Pittsfield, MA, September 26, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Kinnas) Kannes.
She was a beloved mother to her daughter, Theresa and her son-in-law, Joe VanLeuven, Jr., sons, Thomas and Terrence S. McCoy. She was also a loving grandmother to her most treasured grandchildren, Cory and Emily VanLeuven, Zachary McCoy and Veronica Shultis.
She is survived by: her sisters, Amelia (Russ) Harter, Anne (Bill) Demark, Kathryn (Bill) Nasholts, Nadia Ferran; brother, Steven (Dina) and an abundance of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McCoy was also predeceased by a daughter, Christine Shultis; brothers, Harry Kannes, Jr., and Saveryn (Ann) Kannes.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 27, 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 206 Union Street, Hudson, with Fr. John Jedrychowski officiating. Concetta Maria Eastman (1978 – 2015)
SHARON, CT—Concetta Maria Eastman, 36, of Copake, a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Sharon Hospital from injuries she sustained as the victim of a hit and run accident on Bogg Hollow Road in Amenia.
Ms. Eastman or “Jett” as she was affectionately known, was a former supervisor and current foreign orders and business manager at Harney & Sons Fine Teas and Master Blenders in Millerton, where she had worked since 2005.
Born June 16, 1978 in Great Barrington, MA, she was the daughter of Steven J. Richardson of Wassaic and Lana M. (Maggiacomo) Brown of Millerton.
She was a graduate of Webutuck High School class of 1997. She attended Dutchess Community College and was currently enrolled online focusing on a business management degree.
Ms. Eastman enjoyed doing crafty things with her daughters and collecting fairies, but most of all she enjoyed living life with her fiancé, Sean Hosier and their two daughters, Octaviana Temparance Hosier, age four and Auriella Bradlie Marie Hosier, age two. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, fiancé and children, Ms. Eastman is survived by: her two brothers, Jeremie Patrick Richardson and Ryan John Richardson, both of Wassaic; her stepmother, Judie Richardson of Wassaic; her grandmother, Eleanor Currier of Randolph, VT; her future mother-in-law, Diane E. Hosier of Millerton; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.
She was predeceased by her grandfather, Rudolph C. Richardson; her grandparents, Armand C. Maggiacomo and Gladys (Maggiacomo) Flanagan; her stepfather, Donald Brown and her future father-in-law, Bradley C. Hosier.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 11 a.m. at the Millerton Presbyterian Church, 58 Main Street, Millerton. Burial will follow at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton.
