Robert J. Mazzuchelli (1960 – 2015)
COPAKE—Robert J. Mazzuchelli, better known as “Muzzy”, or “285” passed away from cardiac arrest, May 24, 2015 at the young age of 54.
He was born August 27, 1960 to the late Robert P. Mazzuchelli and Anne (Meyler) Mazzuchelli.
Mr. Mazzuchelli is not only survived by his two greatest joys in life, his children, Jenna and Dean Mazzuchelli; their mother, Kelly Mazzuchelli; his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Michael Tartaglia and their children Dana and Brandon Tartaglia, but also by an endless amount of lifelong friends and co-workers.
He was born and raised in Eastchester, and spent memorable summers, vacations and weekends with his family and friends in Copake. When it was time for him to raise a family of his own, he knew Copake was the clear choice. During his life, Mr. Mazzuchelli created a circle of friends that no distance, time or life paths could separate. As his friends will say, he was the “leader” of this group. While creating a family within his friends, he also gained a family at Indian Point Energy Center where he was to celebrate his retirement after 30 years in just a few months.
If he was known for only one thing, it was his sense of humor. His catch phrases, nicknames, facebook postings, stories and one of a kind personality spread happiness and laughter to all he touched.
Though his heart is now still, it provided everyone who was fortunate to know him, with memories that will beat on forever.
Friends may call at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231; Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 Seventh Avenue, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001.
