Christina Malisoff (1959 – 2015)
ALBANY—Christina Malisoff, aged 56, passed away April 19, 2015 at Saint Peter’s Hospital after a heroic battle with cancer.
She was born in New York City and was a longtime resident of Germantown and Hudson and was beloved by many. Ms. Malisoff was an artist, a nurse, a gardener, a community organizer and activist, and for nine years served on the programming staff at the Hudson Opera House.
She was a peaceful warrior, a powerful person and knew how to hold her ground. She was a mentor and influence to countless young people.
Prior to her time at HOH, Ms. Malisoff was a nurse at Columbia Memorial Hospital, a waitress at The Paramount in Hudson and worked at Frank Swim Antiques on Warren Street. She was an active volunteer in the community, especially with the Hudson Community Garden, Animalkind and WGXC Radio. Everyone who knew her knows she was an amazing, compassionate, loving, caring, profoundly generous human being and she made the planet better everywhere she went.
She is survived by: a sister, Dawn of Philadelphia and her longtime friend and companion, Doug Clow.
A celebration of Ms. Malisoff’s life will take place at the Hudson Opera House, Sunday, May 24 at 11 a.m. Feel free to bring a dish to share. Memorial contributions may be made to Animalkind, P.O. Diane H. (Broast) Lown (1944 – 2015)
GERMANTOWN—Diane H. (Broast) Lown of Germantown passed away peacefully April 12, 2015.
Born August 11, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Cross) Broast.
Predeceased by her brother, James Broast, she is survived by: her daughters, Tara Burgett of Germantown and Tiffany Triplett of Apex, NC; a son, Craig Curry of Germantown; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Broast and Bernard Broast of Germantown; her grandchildren, Blair, Devin, Kelsey and Alex Burgett; her great-grandson, William Riley; step-children, Shelley Indigalto and Michael Lown; her nieces and nephews.
Ms. Lown was a caring and generous person who touched the hearts of those she met and she will be missed.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 2 from noon to 1 p.m. followed by a small service at 1 p.m. at Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

Donald L. Doughty (1932 – 2015)
OCALA, FL—Donald L. Doughty 82, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Route 66 in Ghent, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his Ocala home under the care of hospice of Marion County.
Born June 6, 1932 in Lakeview, Mr. Doughty was a mosquito control inspector in Nassau, until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and greatly enjoyed gardening and landscaping in his spare time.
Mr. Doughty is survived by: his wife, Stella M. (Wright) Doughty at home; brothers, Edwin, Kenneth and Michael; sisters, Pearl J. Marro and Sandra L. Giles.
According to his final wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services planned.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
Richard H. Wetmore (1931 – 2015)
SCHENECTADY—Richard H. Wetmore, 83, of Glenville and formerly of Kinderhook, died April 20, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.
Born August 2, 1931 in Inlet, he was the son of the late Clarence and Jessie A. (Pedlar) Wetmore.
He graduated from Colby College in Maine and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in East Greenbush for many years and was a former member of the Kinderhook Zoning Board of Appeals.
He is survived by: his wife, Diana (Yanick) Wetmore; two sons, Robert Wetmore (Rosamaria) of Scotia and Dr. James Wetmore of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Olivia and Veronica Wetmore.
He was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Anzalone Wetmore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 24, 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Route 9, Valatie, with the Reverend George Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
