Gerald A. MacDonald (1933 – 2018)
WEST COPAKE—A graveside service for Gerald “Sudzy” A. MacDonald will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the West Copake Cemetery. Vicar Jackie Jefferson will officiate.
Mr. MacDonald, 85, a lifelong resident of Craryville, passed peacefully Wednesday, December 26, 2018. A complete obituary ran in the January 3, 2019 issue.
Virginia M. Rosborough (1952 – 2019)
RHINEBECK—Virginia “Ginny” M. Rosborough, 66, of Germantown, a lifelong area resident, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born July 29, 1952 in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Day) Rosborough.
She attended Red Hook High School.
Ms. Rosborough was employed at Taconic Farms in Germantown, as a manager and worked there for about 40 years. In addition to working with animals, she had a love for all animals including the many cats she cared for.
Ms. Rosborough is survived by: her brothers, James “Joe” (Heidi) Rosborough of Kingston and William (Laurie) Rosborough of Pine Plains; her dear friend, June Fallon of Germantown; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Kathy Rosborough, and her brother, Robert Allen Rosborough.
A celebration of Ms. Rosborough’s life will be held at the Old School House, Route 9 in Clermont, Saturday, June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will be private in Clermont Cemetery, Clermont.

Anthony F. Nero, Sr. (1922 – 2019)
ALBANY—Anthony F. Nero, Sr., 96, of Hudson died Thursday, May, 16, 2019 at Stratton V.A. Medical Center.
Born September 9, 1922 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Tamburro) Nero.
“Frank” was a veteran of World War II, who served in the Pacific Theater and received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. He was an electrician and worked for the Universal Match Company and Atlas Cement until his retirement. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and was an avid and competitive runner who raced in the Hudson Turkey Trots, New York State Senior Games, Empire State Games and twice qualified for the U.S. National Senior Games. He also built and operated his own model radio-controlled airplanes.
Mr. Nero was the widower of the late Bessie Lena (Cole) Nero. He will be greatly missed by: his sons, Anthony, Jr. and wife Jetty, Michael, James and Thomas; his daughter, Nancy Nero and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Sarah and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Emma and Jack, as well as his sister-in-law, Lucy Nero. He was predeceased by six brothers, Charles, Frank, Joseph, Carmen, Peter and John.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. The family thanks Community Hospice, Stratton V.A. Medical Center as well as the Catskill VA Clinic for their compassionate care.
