Jeffrey Lewis (1945 – 2022)
HUDSON—Jeffrey Lewis, age 77, died at Columbia Memorial Health, September 12, 2022. He was attended to by caring doctors and nurses.
He was born in Brooklyn, April 18, 1945. His life as a city kid provided him with street smarts. Social justice and civil rights were important to him.
Mr. Lewis was a cabinetmaker with a shop, Heartwood Design, in Philmont. His shop was a gathering place for many. Later in life, he utilized his technology and problem-solving skills as a computer consultant. He enjoyed boating on the Hudson River, bird-watching, photography, cooking and music. He volunteered in the Hudson City School District. He and his wife, Adrianne, collaborated to run The Heshima Program that operated happily for many years. The children in the program are close friends to this day.
He was predeceased by: his mother, Mildred Bernstein; his father, Jack Lewis and his sister, Denise Lewis. He is survived by his: wife, Adrianne Lewis; his son, Samuel Lewis (Abby); his sister, Barbara Sheiken (Burt); his brother, Paul Bernstein (Jane); nieces, Mardie Sheiken, Dannie Sheiken, Elise Wisman (Foster); nephew, Jordan Bernstein (Chelsea); great-nieces Emma, Leah and Sophie; many friends and neighbors.
According to his wishes, Mr. Lewis was cremated.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be announced.

Robert Gritz (1945 – 2022)
ALBANY—Robert Gritz, 77, of Valatie passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Albany.
He was a tractor trailer owner-operator for United Van Lines. He enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled craftsman. He will be dearly missed by his family who loved him immensely.

Patricia F. Ether (1944 – 2022)
CLAVERACK—Patricia Frances Ether, 78, of Claverack passed away September, 23, 2022 at home surrounded by family.
She was born in Woodbourne to Victor J. Higgins and Katherine Higgins Barnwell, March 15, 1944. She worked for O.D. Heck in Castleton as direct support for the clients for seven years.
She is survived by: her husband, Joseph G. Ether of Claverack; sons, Joseph C. Ether and Stephen Ether; daughter, Theresa Hoffman; five sisters; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Joseph and Richard Higgins; sister, Katherine Higgins and grandson, Brian Webster.
The family extends gratitude to Jessica from The Community Hospice. Donations may be made to The Community Hospice in lieu of flowers.
Funeral service will be held at Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie, Wednesday, September 28 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stockport with a reception to follow at St. John’s in Valatie.
Frances B. Woullard (1946 – 2022)
NEW BALTIMORE—It is with very heavy hearts that Frances Barden Woullard’s children announced her sudden death after a car accident September 14, 2022.
She was born to Paul and Edna (Moore) Barden, September 4, 1946 in Hudson.
“Fran” was a registered nurse who worked at Albany Medical Center for most of her career which spanned more than 50 years. She loved being a nurse and was the most patient caregiver as well as being very knowledgeable.
She was also a volunteer for many organizations right up to her death. She was past president of the Jaycees in the 1970s and a frequent volunteer at the FASNY Museum of Fire Fighting. She loved giving to others and always thought of others before herself. She made every holiday, birthday or other event a truly happy time by making them so special. She sent daily texts every morning to her children and grandchildren that were encouraging and loving to send them off on their journeys that day.
Mrs. Woullard is survived by: her children, Melissa (Gus) Ellsworth, Rebecca (Joel) Funk and Dr. Adam Drahushuk; her adoring grandchildren, Kimberly Drahushuk, Padric Drahushuk, Levin Broccolo, Kristen Ellsworth and Jocelyn Funk; her sisters and brother, Mary Jean (John) Hoose, Donna (Billy) Klima and Richard (Karen) Barden; a very special cousin, Brian Oles, whom she adored; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Her husband, Charles Woullard died with her in the car accident.
Mrs. Woullard’s church family was very important to her. There will be a Celebration of Life for her and her husband, October 15, 2022 at noon at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 555 Jolsen Boulevard, Greenport.
