Mary Ellen Leffler (1940 – 2016)
AUBURNDALE, FL—Mary Ellen (Becker) Leffler of Ghent passed away unexpectedly March 10, 2016 at her home in Auburndale, Florida.
Mrs. Leffler retired after 33 years of service to the State of New York where she was employed as an executive secretary to the Public Service Commissioner for several years.
She was married to her beloved husband and best friend, Richard for 44 years.
An avid golfer with three holes-in-one to her credit, she truly enjoyed time spent with her friends and family, both in New York and Florida.
Closest to her heart was her family: two daughters and son-in-law, Joanne and David Scalera of Ghent and Teena VanBenschoten of Niverville; she was proud grandmother to her six grandsons, Steven (Jillian) Ringwood of Scottsdale, AZ, Shawn (Lindsey) Ringwood of Scottsdale, AZ, Chase (Jess) Alpart of Schodack, Michael Scalera of Ghent, Gregory Scalera of Ghent and Alex VanBenschoten of Niverville; she is also survived by sisters, Nancy (Edward) Sawczak of Colonie, Bernadette Becker of Albany, Nora (Eugene) Garley of Auburndale, FL; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Elroy F. Becker and Martha L. Hardie of Albany and sisters, Louise Hickey of Colonie and Carol Becker of Albany. Her warm hugs and beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, 3 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m., prior to the service.
William J. Colwell (1942 – 2016)
CATSKILL—William “Bill” Joseph Colwell, 74, of Greenport passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at The Pines in Catskill.
Born January 20, 1942 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Anna (Heeney) Colwell.
Mr. Colwell attended St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson. He retired from the Columbia County Department of Public Works after 25 years of service. A lifelong Hudson resident, he was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Hudson, the Hudson Elks #787, H.W. Rogers Hose Company #2, the Hudson Power Boat Association, the Hudson Fire Police and the Greenport Senior Citizens.
Mr. Colwell is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Rosemary (Arkinson) Colwell; three children, James (Mary) Zanotelli, Debbie (Clyde) Garrison and Nancy (Jon) Freed; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Thomas (Vera) Colwell, Edward (Linda) Colwell, Michael (Barbara) Colwell and Timothy (Bonita) Colwell; his sister, Eileen (Richard) Zinnanti; his sister-in-law, Maureen Colwell Conte; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Colwell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Friday, April 1 at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.

David P. Smith (1953 – 2016)
HUDSON—David P. Smith, 62, of Hudson died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his residence.
Born December 14, 1953 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Anna R. (Concra) Smith and Harold J. Smith, Sr.
Mr. Smith was a customer service representative for The Bank of Greene County and Price Chopper. He was a member and past treasurer of the Hudson Elks Lodge #787 and enjoyed going to Saratoga and bingo games.
His greatest joy in life was being a loving caretaker for his father in his later years.
Surviving are: three brothers, James (Linda) Smith, Harold (Pam Mickle) Smith and Robert Smith; five nieces and nephews, Candace Smith, Shannon (Matt) Card, Bryan Smith, Jason (Charlene) Smith and Megan Smith; four great-nieces, and his beloved cat, Ava Rose.
Visiting hours are Sunday, April 3, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, April 4, 11 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery.

Michael A. Crisci (1957 – 2016)
POUGHKEEPSIE—Michael A. Crisci, 58, of Hyde Park passed away suddenly Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center.
Born June 13, 1957, in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Joseph and Christina (Gigante) Crisci.
Mr. Crisci married Diane B. Crisci June 14, 1986 at the Dutchess Reformed Church in Fishkill. His wife predeceased him December 15, 2012.
For many years, and until his retirement, Mr. Crisci was the maintenance supervisor for the Dutchess County Loop Bus system in Poughkeepsie. Previously he worked for Mountain View Bus Company based in Coxsackie.
He was a former parishioner of St. Sylvia’s Church in Tivoli and a former member of both the Tivoli Fire Company and the Roosevelt Fire Company in Hyde Park.
He is survived by: a daughter, Gina (Christopher) Dugan of Hyde Park; a step-son, Jeffrey Schmitz; his brother, Thomas (Joanie) Crisci of Tivoli; his grandchildren, Dillion, Brendan, and Krysatiana Dugan; his nieces and nephews, Tabatha Eaton of Clermont, Tina Hogan of Tivoli, Thomas Crisci, Jr., of Clermont, April Crisci of Tivoli, Joseph Crisci of Tivoli and Phillip Crisci of Tivoli; along with four great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother, Anthony Crisci.

Mabel Yole (1925 – 2016)
VALATIE—Mabel Yole, 90, of Claverack passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Barnwell Nursing Home with her husband by her side.
Born in Hudson March 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jane and Bertram Kraft, Sr.
Mrs. Yole was employed as a lab technician at Textile By Products in Hudson before retiring.
Surviving are: her devoted husband, Patrick Yole of Claverack; her brother, Joseph Kraft, Sr., of Kingston; three grandchildren, Mellissa Mabb Taylor of England, Rebecca Yole Nelson of Cairo and Patrick Yole of Schodack; her daughter-in-law, Anna Redding of Craryville; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Kraft of Greenport; several cousins, nieces and nephews; a special niece Penny Rockefeller of Florida; friends, Teresa Mittermayr of Hudson, Florence Goodemote of New Paltz and Jennifer Quinn of Philmont.
She was predeceased by her brother, Bertram Kraft, Jr., and two sisters, Martha Heald and Marge Stinson.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
