Paul E. Krapish (1938 – 2014)
HUDSON—Paul Edwin Krapish, 75, of Hudson, formerly of Ossining, Westchester County, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Firemen’s Home.
Born December 8, 1938 in Ossining, he was the son of the late Paul and Grace (Kleesler) Krapish.
Mr. Krapish served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1965. He was employed as a tour bus driver with Van Grant Tours in Ossining. Mr. Krapish was also a longtime member of the Ossining Fire Department.
He is survived by: his brother, George Krapish of Peekskill; five nephews, Michael Krapish (Theresa) of Peekskill, and David Krapish (Kim), Billy Krapish, Mark Krapish and Adam Krapish, all of Buchanan.

Services will be conducted Friday, August 29, 10 a.m. in the Firemen’s Home Chapel, 125 Harry Howard Avenue, Hudson. Burial will follow in the Firemen’s Home Cemetery in Hudson.

June Dunham Blake (1936 – 2014)
SPENCERTOWN—June Dunham Blake passed away at her home, Wednesday, August 20, 2014. She was a nine-year ovarian cancer survivor.
She was first married to George Ungewitter of Pittsfield, MA, with whom she had Laurie J. (Ungewitter) Grube, Mark W. Ungewitter, and G. Scott Ungwitter.
She was subsequently married to David K. Blake of East Chatham, with whom she had Virginia (Blake) L’Bassi. She was predeceased by David 20 years ago.
Mrs. Blake was a loving sister to her two brothers, Charles R. Dunham and Raymond M. Dunham. She also loved her four children and their spouses, her 10 grandchildren, her eight great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, their families, and many friends.
Mrs. Blake grew up in Pittsfield, MA, and resided in Spencertown. She ran a nursery school out of her home in Spencertown for 13 years, taught at various grade schools and adult programs, and then was an instructor at Columbia-Greene Community College. Mrs. Blake enjoyed her many teaching opportunities and always felt that she learned at least as much from her students as she taught to them.
Mrs. Blake enjoyed traveling and visited many places, including Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Costa Rica, Ireland, Alaska, Iceland and Greece. She spent recent winters in Phoenix, AZ, and Jekyll Island, GA. She loved getting her hands in the dirt, tending her own gardens at home as well as volunteering for many summers at Tanglewood, first as a gate attendant and later as a gardener.
Mrs. Blake also actively supported many local endeavors, such as the Austerlitz Historical Society, PS21, WAMC public radio and the Spencertown Academy. She will be fondly remembered for the smile she had for everyone.
There will be a memorial service celebrating Mrs. Blake’s life, Saturday, September 20, 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Spencertown.

Madi Panfiloff (1924 – 2014)
VALATIE—Madi Panfiloff, 89, passed away peacefully at Barnwell Nursing home and Rehabilitation Center, August 22, 2014, following a brief illness.
She was born October 1, 1924 in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Steve and Frances Panfiloff.
Ms. Panfiloff attended Coarc day programs for many years and recently attended the Adult Day Program at Barnwell. She is survived by: her devoted niece, Mary Ann Maples of Barnet, NJ; her dear friends, Linda and Henry Whiteman and their family, and many friends at Coarc.

Rev. Eric H. Rieker (1927 – 2014)
HUDSON—The Reverend Eric H. Rieker, 86, of Kinderhook died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born October 8, 1927 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Hans and Irma (Herold) Rieker.
He was ordained June 17, 1951 into the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and served as pastor at Holy Cross, Springfield, NJ; Holy Trinity, Middle Island; St. John’s, Sayville; St. John’s, Stuyvesant; Trinity, Cliffside Park, NJ; All Saints, Lagrangeville and St. Matthew’s, Hudson.
He is survived by: his wife, Leona M. (Kleinfeldt) Rieker; two sons, the Reverend John M. Rieker of Cairo and the Reverend Eric A. Rieker of Pompton Lakes, NJ; eight grandchildren, Rhiannon, Rhonda, Renee, Eric Zac, Joshua, Erica, Katherine and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Callista, Ryan, Emma and Cheyenne.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Hudson, with the Reverend Jonathan Hodges officiating.
Burial will follow in Kinderhook Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, August 28 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Seminary Fund, 8 Storm Avenue, Hudson 12534.
Lily Nixon Leopold Smith (1934 – 2014)
OLD CHATHAM—Lily Nixon Leopold Smith, born July 13, 1934 in New York City, died August 15 near her home in Old Chatham.
A lifelong New Yorker, she loved the theater, the Yankees and all things New York.
Her husband, James A. Smith predeceased her.
She is survived by: her children, Palmer of New York City, Sanford of Sydney, Australia, and Elizabeth of Portland, Oregon; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
