Jeanadelle Kane (1930 – 2017)
RED HOOK—Jeanadelle B. “Jean” Kane, 86, a lifelong Tivoli, Rhinebeck and Red Hook resident, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Born October 13, 1930, in Tivoli, she was the daughter of the late Claude J. and Katherine (Moore) Pillon. She was a cheerleader at Tivoli High School. She married the love of her life, Richard J. Kane, April 22, 1950 at St. Sylvia’s Church in Tivoli. He predeceased her January 5, 1990.
For many years and until her retirement in 1991, Mrs. Kane was employed as a cook at the New York State Division for Youth, Eddie Parker Center, Red Hook.
She loved going out to diners and restaurants and was an avid bingo player. For many years she was an active member of Red Hook Post #7765 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hook Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and the Red Hook Senior Citizens, and a former member of St. Sylvia’s Church in Tivoli.
She is survived by: her grandsons, Richard W. (Liza) Kane, Jr., of New Paltz and Jason Kane; granddaughter, Arin (Pat) Barbaro; her sister, Violet “Yvonne” (George) Dembosky of Germantown; her loving great-grandchildren, Alyssa J. Kane, and Alexandria Kane, Rhys J. Kane, Christopher Berlt, Danielle Barbaro and Aiden Barbaro; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kane was predeceased by: her son, Richard W. Kane, Sr.; her sisters, Brenda Lindhe, Lillian “Toots” Myers, Mary Keyes; and her brothers, Claude “Pooch” Pillon, Edmond Pillon and Frank J. Pillon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 26, 2017, 11 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook. Burial will be at Red Church Cemetery, Tivoli.

Christopher J. Howard (1970 – 2017)
ALBANY—Christopher Jon Howard, 46, of Canaan passed away July 20, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn after a three year battle with cancer.
He was born November 8, 1970 to Richard and Helen (Eckler) Howard of Philmont.
He will be remembered for his volunteering and always striving to make things better for those he was around. He was a volunteer coach for the Morris Memorial soccer teams. He helped raise money for Make-A-Wish, and also played Santa for his previous employer Coarc.
Mr. Howard was the owner of the Intruders / Bulldog Drum Line of Columbia County. He worked for Frito Lay in Pittsfield, and always enjoyed the challenge of making the places he was employed a better place for all involved.
Mr. Howard is survived by: his wife, Heidi (Gansowski) Howard; his three children, Jensen, Jonah and Jadyn; his brother, Jamie Howard of Albany.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017, 11 a.m., from the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in West Ghent Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
John M.L. Skelley (1938 – 2017)
HILLSDALE—John M.L. Skelley 79, of Hillsdale passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at his home in the company of his family.
He was born in Hudson, May 5, 1938 to the late John S. and Doris A. (Hoffman) Skelley.
Mr. Skelley was a graduate of Ockawamick High School and later a machine operator for Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc., for many years. He was a life-member of the Philmont Rod and Gun Club as well as an avid turkey and deer hunter.
He was also a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Frances (Chambers) Skelley; three sons, Michael Skelley of Hillsdale, Scott (Donna) Skelley of Claverack, Shawn,(Amanda) Skelley of Valatie; grandchildren, Brittany, Meagen, Josh, Katie, Aaron, Hannah and soon-to-be granddaughter, Paisley; great-grandchildren, Michael, Layla, Peyton, Sophia and soon-to-be great-grandsons Logan and (?); a close cousin, Dave (Jennifer) Boice and his best friend and companion, his Rottweiler, Bear.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Hodges of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mellenville Union Cemetery. Rachel L. Lachterman (1987 – 2017)
HUDSON—Rachel Lynn Lachterman, 29, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died peacefully in the company of her family, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her home.
Born in Hudson December 6, 1987, she was the daughter of Louie Graziano and Amy Daley.
Mrs. Lachterman was an author and the owner/operator of 4th & Goal, an advertising specialty company.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Brandon Lachterman and daughter, Addison Lachterman at home; her mother, Amy Daley of Claverack; father, Louie Graziano of Germantown; step-father, Luke Johnson of Catskill and many loving friends.
Friends and family gathered at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport, Friday, July 21 for memorial services where Pastor Dan Herrick officiated.

Maria Rose Rizzo (1944 – 2017)
SPOTSWOOD, NJ—Maria Rose Rizzo, 73, of Spotswood, NJ, formerly of Columbia County passed away July 20, 2017.
She was born March 18, 1944 in Italy to Frank and Angelina Giangreco.
She came to America when she was five, and lived in Brooklyn until 1985 when she moved to Columbia County. She married the late Vincent Rizzo October 23, 1960.
Mrs. Rizzo worked as a home health coordinator. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and her beloved dog, Beethoven.
Mrs. Rizzo is survived by: her children, Sandra and John Funk, Maurice and Joanne Rizzo, Angela and Kenneth Russo and Frank and Karen Rizzo; her 10 grandchildren, Toni–Ann, Maria and Nicholas Funk, Vinny, Salvatore and Marissa Rizzo, Kenny Russo, and Vincent, Alexa and Daniella Rizzo; two great-grandchildren with one more on the way; her brother, Tony Giangreco and his wife Jean and three special nephews, Anthony, Thomas and Johnny.
Graveside services were held Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Livingston Cemetery.
