Joyce M. Hotaling (1956 – 2020)
ALBANY—Joyce M. Hotaling, 63, of Claverack passed away January 21, 2020 at Albany Medical Center.
She was born September 4, 1956 to the late William and Mary (Proper) Hotaling.
She is survived by: her brothers, Donald and his wife Jennifer, William and his wife Sally; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and John Dallessandro; two nieces and two nephews; and her good friends, Nadine Casey and Valerie Reed.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Bruce Hotaling.
Graveside services will take place in West Taghkanic Cemetery in the spring.

He was born August 29, 1924.

Jane S. Lappies (1927 – 2020)
CHATHAM—Jane Simmons Lappies, 92, of Chatham passed away peacefully January 24.
Born June 7, 1927, she grew up in Chatham and graduated in the Chatham High School class of 1945.
She was a graduate of the Mildred Elley Business School of Albany and was a licensed real estate broker during the 1970s and 80s.
She married Marine Corps veteran Bob Lappies of Chatham in 1946 and raised four children, Susan, Jeffrey, Sally and Stephen in the village and at their beloved Queechy Lake home.
Mrs. Lappies was predeceased by: husband, Bob; daughter Susan; son, Stephen and daughter-in-law, Pam Lappies.
She is survived by: her daughter, Sally; son, Jeff; grandchildren, Daniel and Cristian Lappies, Justin Dembski, Sara Mesick and great-grandchild, Eli Lappies.
