Jayne W. Hester (1951 -2020)
VALATIE—Jayne Wainwright Hester (Dutchie), 69 years old, passed away November 17, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Albany, March 8, 1951 to parents, Martin Hester and Laurie Counihan Hester.
She went to high school at St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson. She attended Columbia-Greene College and went on to earn her degree from Sienna College in Albany. Ms. Hester worked for State Senator Doug Hudson, was executive director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, owner of The Rosery flower shops, The OK Package Store and The Kinderhook B&B.
In retirement, she found her passion and became an accomplished American rug hooker traveling the United States teaching the fine art of hooking and selling her one of a kind patterns and color planning.
She was passionate about her family, friends and community. She started the Ghent Playhouse, Kinderhook’s Fourth of July Peoples Parade in 1997, and the fund for Christmas Lights in the Kinderhook Square with Village Residents.
Ms. Hester is survived by: her loving husband, William Laraway; their children, Mac Hester-Laraway and granddaughter Madeline Laraway; O’mally Monahan, her husband Kevin Monahan and grandchildren McKenna and Rory Monahan; Sarah SanEmeterio and grandchildren Drew and Molly SanEmeterio; Courtney Laraway Osborne and grandchild Bailey Osborne; and her sister, Mary Hester of Winter Haven, Florida.
Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist Church in Valatie, November 21, 2020 with Father George Fleming officiating. Burial followed at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Donations in Ms. Hester’s memory may be sent to the Valatie Santa Claus Club. Arrangements are under the direction of the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
Diane Cipkowski (1951 – 2020)
COPAKE FALLS—Diane Cipkowski, 69, of Copake Falls passed peacefully Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at her residence.
She was born July 10, 1951 in Reno, NV.
On August 14, 1993 in Copake Falls, she married Joseph A. Cipkowski, Jr. They worked together as proprietor’s of the family business—the Taconic Wayside Inn in Copake Falls.
She was a lover of animals, especially her dogs.
Survivors include: her husband, Joseph Cipkowski, Jr.; children, Joseph, Daniel (Miranda) and Nikki (Jared); nine grandchildren and two sisters, Yvonne Botkin and Karen Lasher, both of Reno, NV.
She was predeceased by a son, Lee.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Dorothy A. Brown (1931 – 2020)
HUDSON—Dorothy Alice Brown, 89, of Greenport died peacefully Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Germantown May 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Jakobowski) Nawrocki.
She was the co-owner and operator along with her late husband, Donald Brown of the Cherry Ridge Farm in Greenport. She and her husband enjoyed the beautiful view of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains from their farm. Mrs. Brown loved gardening. She was an active member of the Greenport Garden Club.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family including: sons, George Brown, David Brown (Paula Paskali), Mark (Anita) Brown; her daughter, Virginia (Thomas) McGreevy: two sisters, Janice Clow and Venencia Rubino; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by: two brothers, Irvin and Joseph Nawrocki and one sister, Mary Grand. Calling hours are private. M. Carolyn Bove (1941 – 2020)
AUSTERLITZ—Mary Carolyn Bove of Austerlitz, known and loved by her family and friends as Carolyn, died unexpectedly November 12, 2020.
She was born January 4, 1941 in Brooklyn.
She is survived by: her sister, Christine Bove Maefsky (Vincent) of Minnesota; her brother, George Joseph Bove (Polly) of California; her niece, Sarah Johnson; nephews, Seth Maefsky, Shane Maefsky, Stephen Maefsky and David Hart; her horses, Joyful and Mara; dog, Topper; cat, Tom and countless friends.
Ms. Bove graduated from Albany State Teachers College in 1962 and went on to get her MA degree from Teachers College Columbia University. Her career was as a high school special education teacher, most recently in the Monroe Woodbury School District. After retiring from teaching she worked for Coarc, providing support and love to disabled adults in the Chatham area. She later became a postal carrier in the area.
