OBITUARIES: Heath, O’Neill, Hettling


Lillian G. Heath (1926 – 2017)

PHILMONT—Lillian G. Heath, 90, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

She was born December 16, 1926 in Shelburne, VT, the daughter of the late Wendle and Jane (Ross) Auclaire.

She was a member of the Greenport Seniors, Edith Casey Stocking Fund and past senior regent of the Order of the Moose. Most of all she cherished and loved her family.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Smith, Karen Wheeler and her husband Harold; four sons, Wendle and his wife Donna Heath, Larry Heath, Randy and his wife Donna Heath, Nickie and his wife Gail Heath; a sister, Dorothy Jergens and her husband Conrad; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Arnold Heath; a daughter-in-law, Colette Heath; four sisters and seven brothers.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 21, 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains with Pastor Carol Miller officiating.

A reception will follow at Ancramdale Presbyterian Church Hall.

Kevin P. O’Neill (1962 – 2017)

HUDSON—Kevin P. O’Neill, 54, of Craryville died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born October 23, 1962 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Bernard and Ellen (Fisher) O’Neill.

Mr. O’Neill served in the U.S. Navy for 17 years and prior to his retirement worked as an electrician with Sentry Engineering in Georgia.

He was a fan of basketball and football, and enjoyed black and white science fiction movies.

He had a strong belief in God and was an avid reader of the Bible and Christian books.

Survivors include: his wife, Marielena Geraghty, whom he married in Clermont September 13, 2008; three sons, Myles, Adam and Randy; two brothers, Brian and Barny; three sisters, Rita O’Neill, Heather Hieronymi and Siobhan Smith; two grandchildren, Chloe and Claire; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Tuesday, October 17, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

Graveside funeral services will be at St. Sylvia’s Cemetery Wednesday, October 18 at 11 a.m.

Catherine L. Hettling (1940 – 2017)

RHINEBECK—Catherine Louise Hettling, 77, of Clermont died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Baptist Home.

She was born March 15, 1940 in Ossining, the daughter of the late Matthew and Cathyrn (Syska) Dalton.

She worked as a registered nurse with Columbia Memorial Hospital, and the Hudson River Psychiatric Center and the Montrose VA Hospital.

She left her nursing to work with her husband Karl operating the Hettling Farm in Clermont.

Surviving are: her son, William of Clermont and granddaughter, Alissa Rose Travis of Richmond, VT.

She was predeceased by: her husband, Karl, Jr., who died May 20, 2000; her son, Karl, III, and infant son, Jonathan.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in the Clermont Cemetery.
