Albright Harrell (1946 – 2015)

CATSKILL—Albright Harrell, 69, of Hudson passed away November 2, 2015 at The Pines.

He was born in North Carolina, July 26, 1946 to the late Charlie and Fannie Harrell.

Mr. Harrell worked in the assembly department at Kadin Bros. in Hudson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Rudolph, Randolph, Bertha Bell, Barbara Ann and Loretta Harrell, all of Windsor, North Carolina; his son, Jason of Albany; his daughter, Sandie of Philadelphia, PA, and his granddaughter, Tierney of Florida.

A memorial tribute will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Helsinki Hudson, 405 Columbia Street, Hudson.

Madeline G. Burton (1952 – 2015)

RHINEBECK—Madeline G. Burton, 63, of Milan passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at Ferncliff Nursing Home.

She was born January 6, 1952 in Sharon, CT, the daughter of Oscar G. and Minnie E. (Cuomo) Burton.

Ms. Burdon was a therapy aide at Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie.

Survivors include: her daughter, Racquel Palmer of Gallatin; two sons, Mark Burton of Milan and Zachary Burton of Clinton Corners; life-partner, David Becker of Red Hook; five grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys Williams of Millbrook, Rose Coon of Rhinebeck, Minnie Wooden of Milan, Margaret Coons of Milan, Catherine Wendover of Milan and Donna Smith of Milan; two brothers, George Wendover of Milan and Oscar Wendover of Milan; several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Van Echaute and Annie Brizzie and two brothers, Peter and Joseph Wendover.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 21, 10 a.m. to noon at Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.

A graveside service follows the calling hours in Stanford Cemetery.

Nina A. Schultz (1919 – 2015)

CHARLTON, MA—Nina A. Schultz, 96, a resident of The Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton, MA, and formerly of Valatie, died Friday, November 13, 2015.

Born September 23, 1919 in Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ina Mable (Johnson) Decker. Mrs. Schultz was a homemaker and an avid animal enthusiast.

She is survived by: her two daughters, Roberta Courville of Holland, MA, and Sheila McKenny of Florida; four grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Dominic and Rachel.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Schultz and daughter, Carol Hutchison.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 20, 1 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, with the Reverend Stark Jones officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Caterina Scali (1917 – 2015)

STOCKPORT—Caterina Scali, 97, is at peace with her Lord. She passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 with her loving family at her side.

She lived in Stockport for many years.

Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, December 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa (Lombardi) Barbieri.

Mrs. Scali was a homemaker and member of the Church of St. Joseph in Stuyvesant Falls. She was an excellent cook, gardener and enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Domenico Scali in 1993.

Mrs. Scali will be greatly missed by her loving family including: sons, Nick (Janice), Joe (Vicki), Pete (Allegra), Frank (Pina), Luigi, Anthony (Diana), Arthur (JoAnn) and Orlando (Kristina); daughters, Viola (Joe) Bruzzese and Silvana (Tim) Jennings; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, November 14 at the Church of St. Joseph, 1820 U.S. Route 9, Stuyvesant Falls, with Fr. Dan Quinn officiating. Entombment followed in the family mausoleum at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.

Irving F. Welch (1916 – 2015)

GHENT—Irving F. Welch, 99, of Ghent passed away at home Tuesday, November 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Welch enlisted in the United States Army, July 1938 and served three years. He was very proud to represent the Army at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York City. He was called back to active duty January 1943 as a tank commander, expert. He was honorably discharged July 1943. Mr. Welch was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 42.

He was employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1249 working in electrical construction until his retirement. Mr. Welch was an avid hunter, fisherman and horse racing fan. He loved his grandchildren and was involved in all they did. He was their “Gramp.”

Mr. Welch is survived by: his wife of 73 years, Mabel (Stark) Welch; a brother, George of Deleon Springs, Florida; two daughters, Nancy (John) Phippen and Betty (Robert) Proniske; grandchildren, Michael (Cheryl) Phippen, Barbara (Richard) Martelle and Taryn M. Phippen; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Quirino, Dominique Quirino, Calista Phippen, Cameron Phippen; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by seven siblings.

Interment will be at the discretion of his family.
