Harold E. Haire (1947 – 2015)
ANCRAM—Harold E. Haire, 67, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at home.
He was born August 30, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, the son of Marjorie (Lown) Haire of Rhinebeck and the late Herman A. Haire. Sr.
On February 21, 1977, Mr. Haire became a member of the New York State Troopers. He retired May 29, 1996.
He honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving mother, Marjorie, survivors include: two daughters, Michele McCarthy of Ancram and Courtney Haire of Pine Plains; three sons, Steven Haire of Pine Plains, Scott Haire of Pine Plains and Thomas Haire of Pine Plains; two brothers, Herman A. Haire, Jr., of Florida and James Haire of Pine Plains; three sisters, Dorothy Simmons of Florida, JoAnn Lamont of Pine Plains and Sue Ellen Dougherty of CA; five grandchildren, Cody, Evan, Emmaline, Alexander and McKenna.
He was predeceased by a sister, Linda Smith.
Calling hours are Friday, February 13, 2015, 2 to 7 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with a military honor guard and the Reverend Carol Miller officiating.
A reception will follow at Lia’s Mountain View Restaurant in Pine Plains.

Grace Rosekrans (1921 – 2015)
NEW LEBANON—Grace Elizabeth Schaeffer Rosekrans of New Lebanon and Melbourne Place, Pittsfield, MA, went peacefully home to be with her Lord Friday, February 6, 2015 just one month shy of her 94th birthday.
The daughter of Charles and Barbara Reimert Schaeffer, she was born and raised on the family farm in New Tripoli, PA.
She was a graduate of Slantington High School where, as a senior, she was voted class flower by her classmates. She was also a graduate of business school in Denver, CO. While in Denver, she was employed by the Department of Interior. She was a stay-at-home mom until her three daughters were teens, then worked for Ceramaseal in New Lebanon prior to beginning her 16-year career with the United States Postal Service in New Lebanon, the last 9½ years serving as postmaster.
Mrs. Rosekrans enjoyed traveling near and far, especially with her family. She visited Switzerland twice, Italy, Mexico, Norway and its Fjords and Canada. She experienced the great USA by bus and Alaska by cruise ship. She received an equal amount of joy daytripping near her beloved home including the Berkshires and Vermont. Her other joys were observing the birds that flocked to her feeders and experiencing the beauty of her flower gardens and those of others. But above all, her greatest love and joy was her family.
She was a member of the Lebanon Valley Garden Club and the New Lebanon Grange, volunteered at the New Lebanon Public Library, Meals on Wheels and as a Brownie leader while her children were members.
Mrs. Rosekrans was predeceased by Edward, her husband of 45 years; her parents; her two brothers, Alfred (Mae) and Paul (Lucy) Schaeffer and three sisters, Lillian (Raymond) Snyder, Ann (Bill) Betz and Alma (Herb) Keimig.
She is survived by her three daughters, Norma (Bill) Wadsworth, Margaret (Carl) Heise and Jean (John, who joined Grace in Heaven February 8) Curtis; seven grandchildren, Shannon Wadsworth (Jack Bulischeck), Sean Wadsworth (Rachel Hamilton), Carl (Megan) Heise, Bryony (Jose) Aviles, Kristi (Matt) Downey, Mike (Tracy) Curtis and Alison (Jeff) Buckley; 10 great-grandchildren, Joe and Holly Bulischeck, Verity and Gaius Wadsworth, Calghen and Vera Downey, Rylee, Mackenzie and Devon Curtis and Mason Buckley; and wonderful nieces and nephews.
It was Mrs. Rosekrans’ wish to be cremated, to forego calling hours and funeral services and for the burial to be private. The family will be gathering at her home to lovingly celebrate her life and the beautiful person she was.
Her family expresses its profound, heartfelt gratitude for the incredibly compassionate care she received from her three wonderful private caregivers and the staffs of EPOCH at Melbourne and Hospice of the Berkshires.

Terrence F. McCoy (1937 – 2015)
HUDSON—Terrence F. McCoy, 77, of Hudson passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born April 2, 1937 in Geneva, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth McCoy.
Mr. McCoy was a lineman for Conrail in Poughkeepsie for many years until his retirement. He was very proud of his Irish heritage.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Mary V. (Kannes) McCoy of Claverack; two sons, Terrence S. McCoy of Palmer, MA, and Thomas W. McCoy of Albany; daughter, Theresa K. (Joseph, Jr.) VanLeuven of Valatie; sisters, Ruth Bologino, Gail Moorehouse and Mary Morris; grandchildren, Cory and Emily VanLeuven, Zachery McCoy and Veronica Shultis. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Shultis in 2012.
Calling hours will be held Monday, February 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 17, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s/ Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Fr. Winston Bath officiating.
