Elisabeth Grace (1934 – 2018)
OLD CHATHAM—A memorial service for Elisabeth Grace will be held at the Old Chatham Quaker Meeting House, 539 County Route 13, Saturday, April 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Ms. Grace was a resident of Old Chatham.
She was born in London, England, April 28, 1934 and died February 7, 2018. A complete obituary appeared in the February 15 issue of The Columbia Paper.
Robert P. Mayhew, Jr. (1960 – 2018)
HUDSON—Robert P. Mayhew, Jr., 58, of Ancramdale passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1960 in Sharon, CT, the son of Robert P. and Virginia Lee (Rabideau) Mayhew, Sr.
He served with the United States Army for more than seven years. He attained the rank of staff sergeant (SSG) and received many commendations.
Mr. Mayhew was co-owner of M & M Construction and owner of Mayhew Family Care. (His beloved Loretta.)
He was division representative for Hudson Valley APA Pool League; an Ancram town councilman in 2008; a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous; a member of the NRA and past member of the Ancram Landowners’ Association.
Survivors include: his two sons, Theodore Mayhew of Ancramdale and Michael (Morgan) Mayhew of Ancramdale; two grandsons, Collin Michael and Brody Lee Mayhew; two sisters, Mary Ann Roche of Ancram and Terry Lee Wilson of Gallatin; a brother, Leroy Mayhew of Ancramdale; several nieces and nephews; also two pets, Frankie the dog and Boots the cat.
Calling hours will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 10 a.m. from the Ancramdale Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Carol Miller officiating.
Interment will follow in Irondale Cemetery in Millerton with military honors.

Claire C. O’Connell (1968 – 2018)
HUDSON—Claire C. O’Connell, 50, of Elizaville died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born March 13, 1968 in Port Chester, she was the daughter of the late Theo and Barbara (Grainger) Schacklinscky.
Mrs. O’Connell was employed as a teacher’s assistant for 20 years at the Germantown Central School. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband, Thomas; son, Ryan; daughters, Amanda (Kyle Briggs) O’Connell, Shannon (Jeffrey Shumsky) O’Connell, Karyn (Ben Roberts) O’Connell; a brother, Ted Schacklinscky and three grandchildren, Emily, Brantley and Kolten.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 25, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.
Services will be Monday, March 26, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Livingston Rural Cemetery.

Vera E. Herben (1938 – 2018)
VALATIE—Vera E. Herben, 80, passed away March 20, 2018 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell.
She was born in Catskill, February 17, 1938, the daughter of John and Josephine (Crum) Sitser.
She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. Mrs. Herben was also very devoted to her church, and was a long time communicant of Rock Solid Church in Hudson. She loved going for walks, knitting, tending her gardens, and especially enjoyed the company of her dogs.
Mrs. Herben is survived by: her children, Viola Cade, Arthur and Thomas Jr. Winters; her grandsons, John Henry Cade, and Timothy Scott Cade; her niece, Linda Wolfe; nephew, Bobby Sitser.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Herben.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Rock Solid Church, 343 Union Street, Hudson, 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
