James M. Decker (1938 – 2018)
ALBANY—It is with great sadness that the family of James “Jim” M. Decker of Philmont shares the news of his passing, December 25, 2018. He passed away at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness at the age of 80.
He was born September 27, 1938 to the late John and Violet Decker. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Barbara A. Decker. Additionally, Mr. Decker was predeceased by his brothers, John “Jack,” Stanley “Dutch” and sister, Ann O’Neil. He is survived by: son, Mark (Lori) Decker; grandchildren, Nicholas and Riley Decker; his daughter, Marcy Decker; his twin sister, Jean Salvatore; several nieces and nephews. Pauline F. Yerrick (1924 – 2018)
BURLINGTON, VT—Pauline F. Yerrick, 94, of Stottville died Monday, December 24 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT, with her daughter and son-in-law at her side.
She was born in Stuyvesant Falls, November 8, 1924 to the late Anthony and Frances (Nawrocki) Novak.
A 1942 graduate of Martin Van Buren High School, she moved to Stottville in 1946 when she married Don Yerrick and lived there most of the rest of her life. She retired in 1989 after more than 25 years as a bookkeeper for Columbia Auto Parts. Mrs. Yerrick was a member of Holy Family Church in Stottville and the Stuyvesant-Stockport Senior Citizens Club.
She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Barbara A. Yerrick and son-in-law, Steven Webster of Underhill, VT. She is also survived by: her brother, Donald Novak of Stuyvesant Falls; her sister, Gertrude Burkle of Castleton; niece, Carol Vandenburgh of Valatie; nephews, Alan Wolfe of Albany, Will Burkle of Chicago, and Mike and Jack Nytransky of Hudson. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Yerrick in 1995; her son, David D. Yerrick in 2011, and her sister, Charlotte Wolfe in 2006.
Calling hours will be Saturday, December 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Church of St. Joseph in Stuyvesant Falls at 11a.m. Burial will be Monday, December 31 in Cedar Park Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

Howard H. Huyck (1938 – 2018)
KINDERHOOK—Howard “Duke” H. Huyck, age 80, passed away peacefully in his home, the morning of Friday, December 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 8, 1938 on River Street in Valatie to John and Mary Huyck.
He was brother to John Huyck of Ohio, Charles Huyck of Valatie, Dorothy Praga of Kinderhook and Dru Meyers of Stuyvesant.
He was the husband of Carol Tartaglia Huyck for 58 years.
Mr. Huyck worked for Reilly Mills Company in Valatie for 31 years. He was an avid hunter who heavily pursued whitetail deer and black bear and also loved to go on the yearly fishing trips to the Adirondacks with his family and friends. His skills and knowledge of the outdoors were passed onto his children, Pamela Huyck Gardner of Stuyvesant, Angela Huyck Kato of Ghent, Duke Huyck of Kinderhook and Jeremy Huyck of Chatham.
He was father-in-law to Guy Gardner, Alex Kato, Trish Huyck and Joanna Huyck; grandfather to Kimberly Gardner (Andrew Mayer) of Ghent, Jennifer Gardner (Chris Cunningham) of Burden Lake, the late Zachary Kato, Joshua Kato (Victoria Harpis), Duke Jr. (Trisha Buffa), Rachel (Benjamin Greenway), Jacob, Justin, Jason and Jamison Huyck; great-grandfather to Levi Kato, Connor Cunningham, Holly Buffa and was awaiting the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and grandchild, Mr. Huyck was also predeceased by his brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Salvatore Praga, Sr.
He is also survived by family friends, Jack and Rick Novack, Donald Mackey, Donald Knott and Wayne O’ Dell.
He was a man that took on many projects after building his own home that he provided to his family. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Calling hours and a service were held at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, (Route 9), Valatie, Wednesday, January 2, 2019. The Reverend George Fleming officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
