John R. Dean (1940 – 2019)
PHILMONT—John R. Dean, 79, of Valatie died Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Pine Haven Home.
Born May 1, 1940 in New York City, he was the son of the late Martin and Mildred (Gruben) Dean.
Mr. Dean was a self-employed legend and a gentleman farmer.
He is survived by: three daughters, Audrey and Monica Dean, both of South Carolina and Hilary Dean of Valatie; two brothers, Steve and Daniel Dean, both of Nassau; two sisters, Marion Gardner of Tennessee and Barbara Ramey of Maine; six grandchildren, Quentin Donboch, Chelsea and Wade Klingler, Benjamin Gleason, Doc Springer, Holden Dean and Reva Fant; seven great-grandchildren, Hadley, Dex, Carmen, Tessa, Gabriel, Zoe and Luna; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Martin Dean; his grandson, Jordan Gleason and his great-granddaughter, Emslee.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Gladys D. Hallock (1941 – 2019)
KINDERHOOK—Gladys D. Hallock, 77, of Kinderhook passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, May 6, 2019.
Born June 26, 1941 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late August Roland and Gladys Ester (Pratt) Bergerson.
Mrs. Hallock was a professional seamstress for the United States military and a missionary for many local churches. She was a caregiver to many people throughout her life.
She is survived by: her husband, Kenneth B. Hallock, II; four sons, William Hamm, Jr., (Rebecca) of Philmont, Brian Hamm (Lisa) of Kinderhook, Christopher Hamm (Diane) of California and Edward Hamm (Lynn) of North Carolina; her stepson, Kenneth B. Hallock, III, of Stuyvesant Falls; her sister, Shirley Cornoni of Chatham; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Hamm, Sr.
Private services and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Valatie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 242, Valatie 12184. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
