Bonnie Jean Cure (1951 – 2015)
HUDSON—Bonnie Jean Cure, 63, of Hudson passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She was a former employee of the Firemen’s Home in Hudson.
Mrs. Cure lived to please her family. She was happiest when her family was together or when she was playing Bingo.
She was also the best “Nanny” a grandchild could ever have. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Edna (Lansing) Beecher.
She is survived by: her loving husband, Ronald; her children, Ronald (Amy) Cure of Hudson, Joseph (Roxanne) Cure of Ocala, FL; sister, Donna (Anthony) Melazzi of Ocala, FL; granddaughters, Samantha Cure of Hudson and Olivia Cure of Ocala, FL; niece and nephews, Casey and (Justin) Dudley and Dillon Melazzi of Ocala, FL.
She will be greatly missed and always in the hearts, thoughts and prayers of her family.

Robin T. Sweeney (1926 – 2015)
RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ—Robin T. Sweeney, nee Thwaites, 88, of Ridgefield Park, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her home.
Born in Hackensack, she lived in Ridgefield Park most of her life.
She was a member of the DAR, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, War of 1812 Society, New England Women, and Daughters of the Confederacy. She proudly served her community as a trustee and former president of the Ridgefield Park Library.
Mrs. Sweeney was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Sweeney, Jr.; devoted mother of Thomas J., III, and Deidre; loving mother-in-law of Cassandra W. and cherished grandmother of Keelin Sweeney.
Interment will take place March 7, 2015 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.

Barbara Caldwell (1947 – 2015)
LINLITHGO—Barbara Caldwell of Linlithgo ended her adventures on earth February 27, 2015 after a seven-year journey with cancer that gave her more than it took away.
Born January 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Lang) Kincaid.
A pre-school teacher of 13 years, she established the first intergenerational program in New York State, Generations Unlimited, at the former Adventist Nursing Home, bringing together children and the elderly. How those two generations learned from each other. She also directed plays for the Germantown Children’s Theater Workshop and loved it!
But dearest to her heart, were the 18 years she spent entertaining as Mother Goose at schools and libraries all over the tri-county area. She also portrayed Flossie the Tooth Fairy, Puddin’tane the Clown, Cupid, O’Reilly the Leprechaun, Mother Rabbit, The Cat in the Hat, Merry Claus, Jingles the Elf, Tickle the Court Jester, and Sneezles the Clown. Her husband never knew who he was going to wake up to!
She is survived by: her beloved daughter, Danielle and son-in-law, Tim Hennessey.
Mrs. Caldwell flew the ties of the earth knowing that these two have a solid marriage which gave her great comfort. Also surviving: is a dear brother, Burke Kincaid; two terrific sisters-in-law; many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, a host of wonderful friends and three precious grand-dogs.
She is now in the arms of Jim, her beloved husband of 40 years, and is so content.
Per her request a celebration of her life will be held March 15, 2015 1 to 3 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.

John W. Gregory, Jr. (1949 – 2015)
LINLITHGO—John W. Gregory, Jr., 65, of Linlithgo died Monday, March 2, 2015 at his home.
Born June 4, 1949 in Kinderhook, he was the son of the late John W. Gregory, Sr., and Gloria (DeVinski) Gregory.
Mr. Gregory was employed for many years as a maintenance mechanic with Peckham Industries in Athens.
He loved his family and pets. Mr. Gregory was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary (Potts) Gregory; three sons, Patrick, Bryan and Christopher, all of Columbiaville; a sister, Becky Dellavechia and several grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday, March 6, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. with the Reverend Theodore Gerken officiating.
Private cremation will be at the Cedar Hill Crematory of Newburgh.

John E. Pickett (1930 – 2015)
AVON, CT—John E. Pickett, 84, of Kinderhook died Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Avon, CT.
Born December 16, 1930 in Canajoharie, he was the son of the late Earle R. and Lillian (Bodley) Pickett.
Mr. Pickett was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for TransWorld Airlines in New York City for many years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and many local community organizations. He was an avid model railroader, photographer, painter and gardener. He was a kind, compassionate man who adored his family and was a friend to all.
Mr. Pickett is survived by: three children, David C. Pickett (Julia) of Rocky Hill, CT, Susan P. Fayerweather (Jim) of Simsbury, CT, and Mark B. Pickett (Meredith) of Canton, CT; seven grandchildren, Gregory and James Pickett, Andy and Sarah Fayerweather, Ryan, Matthew and Maria Pickett. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace (Snyder) Pickett.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 14, 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 9, Valatie, with the Reverend James Slater officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America, Twin Rivers Council, Albany or the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum, Shelburne Falls, MA.

Kathleen Hamilton Gerardi
NEW YORK CITY—Kathleen Hamilton Gerardi, 77, passed away in New York City, March 2, 2015 from congestive heart failure.
She was a tireless government official and executive for non-profit organizations, a passionate believer in fair housing, interracial and interfaith causes and an exuberant lover of life and family.
She was born in Queens, to Robert Hamilton and Marion Mulqueen. She grew up in Queens and Manhasset. She attended St. Mary’s schools, resided for 27 years in East Hills, and lived in Long Beach since 1987.
With her family, Mrs. Gerardi spent summers at her beloved family home on Kinderhook Lake in upstate New York.
She is survived by: her husband, retired attorney, George R. Gerardi; children and spouses, Kathleen and Eric J. Adams, Joseph and Bethany Richardson-Gerardi, Robert and Kyra Buchko Gerardi and Mary Jo and Congressman Chris Gibson; nine grandchildren; two sisters and their spouses, Betty Jo and Gerald Schmaedick and Mary and Gerald Howard.
Mrs. Gerardi spent more than 40 years working with county, state and federal providers of low and low-middle income housing, and spent a decade as director of Federal and State Aid for Nassau County. Most recently, Mrs. Gerardi served as a consultant and director for NeighborWorks America. She was elected trustee for the village of East Hills and served as an assistant professor and grants coordinator for Long Island University. Mrs. Gerardi earned three masters degrees, in education from Queens College, in political science from C.W. Post, Long Island University, and in public administration from New York University. She was a dissertation away from her PhD in political science before her death.
Mrs. Gerardi traveled extensively throughout the world, including numerous trips with family to Asia, Africa, Europe, South and Central America and the Dominican Republic. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Valatie and of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Point Lookout. She also volunteered with numerous organizations, including Hermandad, Inc., Butterflies USA, Long Beach Interfaith Council and she was a member of the NAACP.
A wake will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015, 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1025 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, with a funeral Mass and reception to follow at noon. To honor the memory of Mrs. Gerardi, the family welcomes donations to non-profit organizations Hermandad, Inc. (www.hermandad.org) or Butterflies USA (www.butterfliesusa.org).
