Jordan Couitt (1990 – 2021)
VALATIE—On September 5, 2021 the world lost a beautiful, amazing person, Jordan Couitt.
He was born December 19, 1990 in Providence, RI, to Lori Anderson (Couitt).
He was always the silly kid which continued into adulthood. He made everyone laugh whether from his jokes, his faces or his dance moves. He loved playing April Fools’ jokes on everyone. He never met a stranger.
He could talk to anyone no matter where he went. He wanted to learn about everyone as an individual and wasn’t interested in “small talk.”
He loved to skateboard, play video games, game nights with family, drawing, meditation, yoga and building things. He went on to become a yoga instructor.
He had the best laugh and the biggest smile. No hug will ever compare to one received from him.
He had three children he absolutely adored, Kaylee, Noah and Brody. He is survived by his mother Lori; his sisters, Alyssa (Markland), Christine, Chelsea (Tyler); a brother, Marc (Stephanie); his maternal grandfather, Gary Couitt; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Marlene Couitt. The family extends their extreme gratitude and appreciation to the nurses at Albany Medical Center.
Friends and family celebrated his life September 10 at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
Lois M. Teator (1931 – 2021)
GHENT—Lois Mae Teator, 89, of Hudson passed away Wednesday, September 1 in Ghent. Born November 12, 1931 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Frances (Folmsbee) Teator.
Ms. Teator was a senior clerk in the Columbia County Clerk’s office for more than 40 years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church and participated in the choir. She was also a member of the Treble Choraleers Choir, and was a devoted New York Yankees fan.
She will be dearly missed by: her niece and nephew, Betty and Samuel Buffa, Jr.; great-niece, Trisha Buffa; great-great-niece and -nephew, HollyMae Buffa and Duke Huyck, III; her cousin, Claudia Teator and dear friend, Bea Hardy. She was predeceased by: her parents; her sisters, Frances (Howard) Scutt and Janice (Samuel, Sr.) Buffa and her nephew, Paul Buffa.
A funeral service was held September 7 from the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Frances L. Hughes (1945 – 2021)

Jeremy A. Turner (1986 – 2021)
HUDSON—Jeremy A. Turner was born June 16, 1986 in Hudson to the late Bonnie Tinker and Matthew Turner.
He passed away suddenly September 2, 2021.
He played a crucial role in his family’s business, Matt’s Lawn Care & Excavation. He was also owner/operator of JT Trucking & Hydroseeding.
He was known not only for his size, but also his ability to crack a joke at any moment. A gentle giant with a heart of gold to friends, family and complete strangers.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Mezmarie Turner; two children, Amoria and Raymond; his parents, Matthew and Sharon Turner; brother, Jonathan and sister-in-law Rachael Turner; his niece, Avery; sister, Helena and brother-in-law, Sean Gardner and their children Tobin and Jude; and brother, Joey Suntimer.

Marion Patzwahl (1931 – 2021)
GREENPORT—Marion Patzwahl, 90, of Greenport passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Born July 6, 1931 in Hudson, she was the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Decker) Barto.
Mrs. Patzwahl was a founding member of the Greenport Senior Citizens Club, and enjoyed 30 years serving as secretary. She was an avid reader and dog lover, and a devoted New York Yankees fan. She always enjoyed a friendly debate with Boston Red Sox fans. Above all, she cherished and loved her family. She never missed a school or sporting event that her children or grandchildren participated in. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Joseph in Stottville. She will truly be missed by her many friends and acquaintances.
Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Scott (Nancy) Patzwahl, Laurie (Robert) Nicholson and Terry (August) Abatecola; grandchildren, Lucas (Monica) Nicholson, August Abatecola Jr., Bryanna (Daniel) Scali, Ali Abatecola, along with Taylor, Kyle and Hannah Patzwahl; four great-granddaughters, Sophia and Leah Nicholson and Emma and Charlotte Scali, and a sister, Catherine (Nack) Ruby. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Patzwahl; grandson, Nathan Nicholson and brother, Peter Barto.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 8 from the Church of St. Joseph Stottville Parish. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery. Sandra R. Michael (1948 – 2021)
GREENPORT—Sandra Rose Michael, resident of Greenport, was called home Saturday, September 4, 2021.
She was born in Harlem Hospital in New York City, June 16, 1948. She graduated high school and married the late Vietnam War veteran, Vinford Franklyn Michael, Sr. She attended Lehman College and received her Bachelor of Science in education and then received her Master of Science degree in educational technology from the New York Institute of Technology.
She became a bilingual teacher and taught within the Bronx school system. Her hobbies included tennis, dance and travel. She loved her dogs, Max and Lulu.
She relocated to Hudson after her retirement. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and served as an usher. Her special love was the community of senior citizens in Joslen Commons Complex.
She is survived by: her son, Vinford Franklin Michael, Jr.; her grandson, Vinford Franklin Michael, III; her granddaughter in-law, Mahogany Michael; her two great grandsons, Mathew Franklin Michael and Mason Avery Michael; her brothers, Mario, Julius, Tony, Bert, Nicholas and her sisters, Roslyn, Celestine, Irma, Georgette, Jewel, Ruby and Lisa. Her special friends were Alice Alonzo, Judy Allen and Rose Patterson.
Mrs. Michael was preceded by her parents, Julius Hines, Jane Hines and Maximillian, her first dog.
“God made her a wonderful mother, sister and friend. She never grew old. Her smile was as wide as the sunshine. He molded her heart of pure gold, her eyes he placed bright shining stars in her cheek’s fair roses you see: she was wonderfully made. We will love you always.”
Funeral services were held at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson, Monday, September 13, 2021. Interment was in Farmingdale National Cemetery, Long Island, September 14, 2021.
Jeremiah Stone (1979 – 2021)
HUDSON—Jeremiah “Jay” Stone, 42, of Greenport died Friday, September 10, 2021 in Hudson following a long illness.
He was born in Hudson September 3, 1979 and is the son of Lee A. and Deborah A. (Edgley) Stone.
He was a graduate of Hudson High School and was a member of the Hudson Knights of Columbus and the Donald E. LaValley Assembly.
In addition to his parents, he will be greatly missed by: his children, Ethan and Jennifer Stone; his brother, Christopher Stone; one sister, Heather Maxfield; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours and funeral services were held at the Sacco Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport, September 13 with Fr. Anthony Barratt officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Catherine B. Moore (1927 – 2021)
PHILMONT—Catherine (Boye) Moore passed away at Pine Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Sunday, September 5, 2021 after a brief illness.
She was born in Seacaucus, NJ, February 7, 1927. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Katherine Boye; her brother, William Boye; her husband, G. Crawford Moore; her oldest daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Malcolm Hood and her nephew, William Boye. She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Wolferstieg; her grandson and his wife, Eugene and Kelly Hood; her nephew, Robert Boye; many great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moore was an active member of the Philmont Reformed Church until her admission into Pine Haven several years ago. She used to like to say that she had traveled full circle as she and her husband were co-administrators of Pine Haven Home when it was known as the county home and she loved to tell stories of how it used to be.
After leaving Pine Haven in 1972, she and her husband were co-administrators of the German Masonic Home in Tappan. They returned to Columbia County in 1976 and she retired. She remained active by being involved with her church and several fire auxiliaries. In her later years she spent most of her time reading and crocheting baby blankets and lap robes that she then donated to those who wanted or needed them.
She was known to many as “Gramma Moore” or “Nana Moore” and she loved to have babies and children visit her. In the times of Covid, she settled on looking at pictures that her daughter took and brought to her at each visit.

Arthur Ham (1935 – 2021)
PHILMONT—Arthur Ham, “Hamy,” 86, of Philmont passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Philmont.
Born March 6, 1935 in Hudson, he was the son of Archie and Bertha Ham.
He is survived by: three daughters, Sharon (Grener) Johnson, Regina (Joe) Gatti and Paula Grener; seven grandchildren, Kent, Kirk (Tracy), and Kevin Johnson, Jill Johnson, Stacey Johnson-Colloton, Rachel Gatti and Derrick Stark; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Ham, August 26, 2021.

Steven Hollenbeck (1961 – 2021)
HUDSON—Steven Hollenbeck, 59, of New Hartford passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Born December 9, 1961 in Hudson, he was the son of (the late) Joel Hollenbeck and Gloria (Bartholomew) Hollenbeck.
Mr. Hollenbeck was a NYS Corrections Officer and retired from the Marcy State Correctional Facility. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1984.
“Steve” loved his family and cherished every moment with them. He was a loving, and caring, son, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His ability to give and also take a joke was a treasured quality of his enviable sense of humor. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and quad riding. He will be most remembered as having a head as big as his heart.
In addition to his mother, Gloria, he leaves to cherish his memory: stepsons, Dustin and Brian (Amanda); grandchildren, Ella, Lincoln and Liam; sister, Jolene (Sam) Turrone; nieces and nephews, Robert (Jennifer), Shane (Jessica), Korin (Dave), and Hailey, and his companion Dedre Ferguson. In addition to his father, Joel, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret “Peg” (Potter) Hollenbeck, and his brother, Kenneth Hollenbeck.
Memorial visitation hours at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home will be held Friday, September 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be Saturday, September 18 at 2 p.m. in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Reinhold F. Kluge, Jr. (1933 – 2021)
ANCRAMDALE—Reinhold F. Kluge, Jr., 87, of Ancramdale passed away peacefully August 31, 2021 at his residence. He was born in the Bronx, December 30, 1933 to the late Reinhold and Frieda (Graebner) Kluge.
After completing high school, he attended and graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1956. He then obtained his masters from the University of Connecticut. In 1985, he was married to Geraldine O’Hara in Mt. Kisco.
He was an industrial arts teacher at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, prior to his retirement, at which time he developed and owned Artisan Construction Enterprises. Being a builder, in 1957 he began building a home in Wolfe Island, Ontario, which would serve as their second home until it was sold in 2013. Mr. Kluge was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He took numerous hunting trips to Montana and Canada. Being a passionate duck hunter, he enjoyed the Eastern Shore of Virginia, especially Chincoteague. He was a proud life-member of the Camp Fire Club of America of Chappaqua.
Mr. Kluge is survived by: his wife, Geraldine Kluge; daughter, Karen (Bart) Green; his son, Kenneth Kluge; four grandchildren, Kyle (Joanna) Green, Hayley (Florian “Loki” Cech) Green, Sean and Cody Kluge; three great-grandchildren, Karly and Ashton Green and Carter Kluge.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Kluge.
Family and friends attended visitation time Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake. Inurnment will take place privately in Ferncliff Cemetery. Joan R. Shatney (1932 – 2021)
EAST CHATHAM—Joan Ruth Shatney passed away August 31, 2021.
Born January 24, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Ruth Gardner Van Wagenen. She grew up in Dutchess County and later married Iliff Shatney. They moved to East Chatham in 1965.
She spent many years leading and assisting the Canaan Seniors Group. She enjoyed bowling in a league at the Chatham Bowl, was a member of the East Chatham Methodist Church, Dutch Shoes Square Dancing Club, and was a member and past president of the East Chatham Ladies Auxiliary.
She started a baking career at the Country Kitchen, then onto Stoney Kill Rest. She also worked as a baker at the Cottage Restaurant and Queechy Lake Motel. People came from miles around for her breads and doughnuts.
She was predeceased by: her son, Larry; husband, Iliff and her brother, Edward.
She is survived by: her sons, Iliff (Wendy) of East Chatham, Barry (Donna) of Nassau; her daughter, Carol Hassan of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Paul and Jason Shatney, Erlinda Abrahamson, Courtney Powell and Chad Hassan, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services took place September 4 at the East Chatham Methodist Church.

Richard R. Hosier (1961 – 2021)
ELIZAVILLE—Richard R. Hosier, Jr., 59, of Elizaville passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
Born December 27, 1961 in Rhinebeck, he was the son of Gladys (Nelson) Hosier Angier of Red Hook and the late Richard R. Hosier.
“Rich” married Cindy Robinson, July 29, 2017 in Hyde Park. She survives at home.
For many years, he worked throughout the Hudson Valley as the owner and operator of Hosier Construction based in Elizaville.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, Mr. Hosier is survived by: his children, Elisha (Sean) Wyant of Red Hook, Richard Hosier, III, of Pine Plains, Charles Hosier of Stanfordville, Elizabeth Hosier of Stanford and Kristi Hosier of Block Island, RI; his granddaughter, Harper Wyant; his stepchildren, Melissa Mooney of Highland and Justin Mooney of LaGrange; his sisters, Carol (Bruce) Hay of Livingston and Cindy Hosier of Hudson; his former wife and mother of his children, Janice Hosier of Stanfordville; along with extended family and numerous friends.
His sister, Donna Humbert predeceased him.
A memorial service was held at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook, September 8, 2021. Interment will be private.

Michael F. Sandagato (1954 – 2021)
HUDSON—Michael F. “Six-Pack” Sandagato, 66, lifelong resident of Hudson, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson following a long illness.
Born in Hudson September 17, 1954, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Christina E. (Russo) Sandagato.
“Mike” graduated from the Hudson High School Class of 1972. He was a driver for NYS Dept. of Corrections; a parishioner at the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church; a member of Hudson Elks BPOE #787; a committeeman with Columbia County GOP and for 60 years a #1 fan of the Boston Red Sox.
He will be greatly missed by: his daughter, Jaime Sandagato; two brothers, Joseph (Debbie) Sandagato and Anthony (Kathy) Sandagato; his granddaughter, Aubrey Grey; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive Greenport and Saturday, September 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
Kathleen M. Griffin (1960 – 2021)
CLAVERACK—Kathleen M. Griffin, 61, of Claverack passed away September 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born March 18, 1960 to the late Joseph and Arlene (Shaw) Ely in Brooklyn. The family moved to Columbia County and she graduated from Red Hook High School the Class of 1978.
She went on to continue her education at Dutchess County Community College where she received a New York Certified Medical Assistant degree. She worked for 33 years helping to care for others in the community. October 15, 1983, she married the love of her life, Matthew Griffin in Rhinebeck. They raised one son, Shane together. He brought joy to her life. When Shane married Ann and had a daughter, Eloise, Mrs. Griffin’s life was complete. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends especially her granddaughter. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by: her husband, Matthew Griffin; son, Shane; daughter-in-law, Ann; granddaughter, Eloise; sisters, Pamela Ely, Susan Oram and sister-in-law, Donna Ely.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Arlene Ely and two brothers, Kevin and Brian Ely. Her family will receive friends at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Marlene Alamillo (1939 – 2021)
CHATHAM—Marlene Alamillo passed away peacefully August 30, 2021 at the age of 82.
She was born April 1, 1939 to Frederick and Clara Kratt.
She is survived by: her daughter, Penny Pastula (David Mazzeo); granddaughters, Ashlee Alamillo (Mike Signer) and Erin Nartowicz; brothers, Richard (Sandy) Kratt, John Kratt, and Martin (Lou) Kratt; great-grandson, Cooper Signer and several nieces and nephews.

Greta O. Koons (1970 – 2021)
NEW LEBANON—Greta O. Koons, 51, of New Lebanon passed away at home, August 31, 2021.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of Herbert Bahrmann, Sr., and the late Violet LaWare Bahrmann.
She was employed for more than 20 years by OTB. She started in New Lebanon as a teller and retired in New Lebanon as a manager. She had a love for all animals, especially her late cats.
Ms. Koons enjoyed trying new recipes in the kitchen and traveling to Lake George yearly to see the sights of the Adirondacks. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by: her father, Herbert Bahrmann, Sr., (Wendy Cook); son, Christopher Koons; brother, Herbert (Joanne) Bahrmann, Jr.; sister, Tina (Dennis) Smith; her life-partner, Jeff Grune, as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara Ann Fieller
Valatie, N.Y.-Barbara Ann Fieller, 83, passed away in her sleep on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Born on May 2, 1938, in Sharon, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Pearl (Burdick) Fieller.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved older brother, Richard Burdick Fieller, Sr., who was killed in action in Vietnam.
Barbara retired from Chase Manhattan Bank, after a long career as Bank Manager. One of her favorite customers was the legendary Jets quarterback, Joe Namath.
Barbara was a wonderful Aunt and Great-Aunt. She was a kind, generous human being and a loyal friend. She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved music, especially singing along to her favorite song “Sweet Caroline.” She loved all animals, especially her kittens.
Barbara is survived by her nephew, Richard B. Fieller, Jr. and wife Beth of Silver Spring, MD. Also, survived by her great niece, Megan Fieller-Robertson and husband Gene and great nephew, Matthew Fieller and wife Jennifer and great-great niece Bailey.
