George H. Clarkson (1925 – 2020)
CHATHAM—George Henry Clarkson, 95, died April 17, 2020.
He was born in Dover Plains and moved to Chatham in 1929. He was a veteran who served from 1943 to 1946.
He was happily married for more than 50 years to Eleanor Barzyk Clarkson.
His spirit is carried by: three daughters, Grace Theresa Friss, Dianna Main and Susan Monroe; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He always donated to the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Ghent VFW #5933.
Mr. Clarkson was an avid cook and enjoyed going out to eat at diners. “He will forever live in our hearts.”

Patricia A.C. Cavagnaro (1955 – 2020)
ALBANY—Patricia Ann Collins Cavagnaro, 65, of Niverville passed away Friday, April 17 in Albany.
“Pat” was born on Long Island to William and Joan Collins in 1955, the oldest of four children.
The family moved upstate when she was in middle school. She met her future husband, Larry her junior year of high school and they married immediately after she graduated from Ichabod Crane in 1973. She spent the first part of her career working as a systems engineer at General Electric but left that role in her 30s to join her husband in running Cavagnaro Construction. She was a deeply religious Christian and passionate about education. She founded the Academy of Christian Leadership in 2003 and was involved in and supported a number of charitable organizations.
She is survived by: her husband of 47 years, Lawrence R. Cavagnaro; daughter, Lauren Stollow; son, Matthew Cavagnaro; siblings, Ann Marie Schwartz, Joan Yellott and William Collins and five beautiful grandchildren whom she loved deeply.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Cavagnaro family asks that “you take this moment to hold your loved ones close.”
Mrs. Cavagnaro will be buried in a private service at the North Chatham Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at a future time when all those who knew and loved her can gather to remember her. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
Letitia P. Fado (1918 – 2020)
HILLSDALE—Letitia “Letty” Pugliese Fado passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the age of 101.
She was born November 1, 1918 in the Town of Harrison to Frances Mola Pugliese and Francis Pugliese. After marrying
Joseph John Fado in 1939, they built a wonderful life in Greenwich, CT, where they welcomed four adorable children.
In 1949, the family moved to Hillsdale, where they were blessed with two more boys. They enjoyed their new idyllic rural setting, raising horses, cows and rabbits, swimming in the ponds and hunting. Mrs. Fado was a loving wife and homemaker, devoted to her children.
She was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Joseph (1979) and beautiful daughter, Linda Carol DeRuzzio (2017). She is survived by: her children, John Joseph Fado, Sr., (Gayle) of Hampton, NJ; Constance Bonnie Millar (John) of Claverack; Joel Fado of Copake; Francis Fado (Renee) of Highland Beach, FL; Robert Fado (Judeanne) of Hillsdale; and son-in-law, Michael Salvatore DeRuzzio, Sr., (Linda) of Hillsdale; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A private interment in the family plot at the New St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Copake Falls will occur at a future date.

Irene Ansmann (1940 – 2020)
PHILMONT—Irene Ansmann, age 79, of Austerlitz passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 30, 1940 in Flushing, Queens to the late Albert and Frances Sulzbach. She grew up in College Point, Queens.
Ms. Ansmann is survived by: her daughters, Mary (Andy) Gerhardt of Austerlitz, Suzanne Collins of Naugatuck, CT; her grandchildren, Andrew, Madeline and Luke; a great-granddaughter; her sister, Jane Arnold; stepsister, Anne Wendel; many nieces and nephews; and foster children, Elaine Montchal and Kenny Musgrove.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa and grandson, Willy.
Ms. Ansmann was a homemaker and took many children into her care; adopting; fostering children, whom she thought of as her own and babysitting. She was always helping and volunteering either in person or through letters and donations. She was exceptionally religious and was always ready to give and help. She was the type of person who comes around once in lifetime. She turned the sorrows of her life into love for others.
She worked for a time at Godiva Chocolate in Manhattan. She was a member of St. James Church in Chatham.
