Edith Jennie Cargain (1943 – 2015)
COLUMBIAVILLE—Edith Jennie Cargain, 72, of Columbiaville entered into eternal rest peacefully at home August 8, 2015 following a long battle with cancer.
Born February 20, 1943 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Mildred and Harold Rothrock.
Mrs. Cargain graduated from Dover Plains High School in 1961 and Mildred Elley Secretarial School in Albany the following year.
After working for the CIA in Washington, DC, she married Douglas Cargain May 30, 1964. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA, in the Navy, and they lived in England, Florida, and Puerto Rico and returned to New York State in 1969. In 1974, they adopted their daughter from South Korea and shortly thereafter settled in Ghent.
Mrs. Cargain enjoyed canning vegetables, reading, crocheting and was known for baking desserts for family, friends, coworkers, and even her doctors’ offices. It was her tradition to crochet snowflakes at Christmas for all of her coworkers at Walmart. She read her Bible every day. Mrs. Cargain loved her cats, hot baths, tea and being a mother and grandmother.
Surviving is: Doug, her beloved husband of 51 years; her daughter, Michele O’Connell; son-in-law, Ryan O’Connell and the joys of her life, grandsons, Evan and Matthew O’Connell, all of North Haven, CT. Her rescue cats, Sophie and Misty will miss her dearly.

Dale Arden Stickle (1944 – 2015)
CRARYVILLE—Dale Arden (Hay) Stickle, 71, of Craryville passed away peacefully Thursday, August 6, 2015 at her residence.
She was born March 3, 1944 in Danbury, CT, a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Pilch) Hay.
A homemaker, Mrs. Stickle previously worked at Decker’s Laundry in Lakeville, CT. She enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandson. She was loved and will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by a brother, Lee Hay and two sisters, Sheila Parsons and Joan Beebe.
Survivors include: her husband of 53 years, Robert Stickle; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Stickle; a daughter, Lori Simmons and companion Mark St. John; her grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke and B.J. Stickle and Tyler and Brittany Simmons; her great-grandson, Tyler Mason Simmons, Jr.; two brothers, Gene Hay and Neil Pilch; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22 in Copake, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1 p.m.

James E. Bollbach (1926 – 2015)
VALATIE—James E. Bollbach, 89, of Valatie passed away peacefully in his home July 31, 2015.
Born in Queens, February 2, 1926, he was the son of late Henry and Viola Bennett and step-mother Florence Bollbach.
He graduated from F.K. Lane HS in 1944 where he was a member of the band and swim team as a diver. He proudly served with the United States Army Air Force and then graduated from Parsons School of Design.
Mr. Bollbach grew up in Woodhaven Queens and settled in Freeport raise a family and he later retired from Jerry Moss, Inc. in New York City as art director, after 18 years of employment. Upon his retirement he relocated to his home on Kinderhook Lake, Valatie. Here is where he would become know as a local artisan for his painted and carved creations.
Mr. Bollbach is survived by: his loving wife of 62+ years, Doris E. Youngquest Bollbach; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery E. Bollbach and Barbara Sussman Bollbach of Freeport; daughter and son-in-law, Lori E. Bollbach Herzing and Louis Vincent Herzing of Valatie; two grandchildren, Alexander S. Bollbach and Lissa J. Herzing. He was predeceased by his loving sister, Ruth E. Bollbach Diefenbach.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, painting, carving and inventing.
