Judith A. Cadwallader (1940 – 2018)
STANFORDVILLE—Judith A. (McCormick) Cadwallader, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 29, 2018 at home.
She was born February 1, 1940 in Manhattan, the daughter of the late Frank “Buck” and Vera (Preedy) McCormick.
She graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie and later spent 42 years counseling students in the Vassar College Sociology Department. She was an avid gardener and reader, completing more than 750 books in 3 years, and was an equestrian and fashion model in her younger days.
She traveled the world with her husband, Bob, to whale watch, free dive, descend far under water in a submarine, tour European countries, and see and experience things that few of us ever do.
In addition to her loving husband, Robert H. Cadwallader, survivors include: a son, Adam Thorson (Candace) of Livingston; a daughter, Samantha Harris (Daniel) of East Thetford, VT; a sister, Nancy Venier of Wells; two grandchildren, Hunter and Kai Harris; two nephews, Jason and Judson (Tricia) Venier; three stepchildren, Beth and Jeffrey Cadwallader and Deborah Null; a step-grandson; great nieces; and a great nephew.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains.

Lynne M. Van Eck (1953 – 2018)
ALBANY—Lynne M. Van Eck, 64, of Ghent died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Albany Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1953 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Robert Sample and Barbara (Kniffen).
Mrs. Van Eck was a realtor with Exit Reality in Lakewood Ranch, FL, and the owner of Lynne’s Cards and Gifts in Englewood, FL. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and served on the Board of The Friends of the Library in Englewood.
She was a devoted wife of 41 years, an outstanding mother, and loving grandmother. In addition to her family, she loved spending time with her dog, Charlie. Mrs. Van Eck was selfless, always putting others above herself.
She is survived by: her husband, Roger L. Van Eck; four children, Gene Van Eck of Sanford, ME, Lisa O. Cleary of Dallas, TX, Allan Van Eck of Aiken, SC, and Jenna Van Eck of Ghent; four sisters, Eileen Thompson of Rotunda, FL, Nancy Bell of Englewood, FL, Karen Schworm of Rutland, VT, and Theresa Neloms of Englewood, FL; seven grandchildren, Keith Cleary, Tiffany Van Eck, Samantha Lutze, Ethan, Alex, Madison and Courtney Van Eck, and a great-grandson, Liam Van Eck.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. A private graveside service will be held at the Albany Rural Cemetery with the Reverend Nick Becker officiating.
Lloyd Tomlin (1949 – 2018)
HUDSON—Lloyd “Frog” Tomlin, 68, died May 1, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. “He has left his life here with us to start his eternal one.”
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Gloria; sons, Sean (Sam) Tomlin and Lloyd (Ashley) Tomlin, Jason Tomlin; daughter, Christina (Bruce) Pecorella; grandchildren, Brandon, Clarissa, Savanah, Bruce and Kaley; his sisters, Wendy (Rusty) Flouton and Sharon (Matt) Turner; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He worked many years at A. Colarusso and Son.
In retirement, he could always be found in his garage.
Mr. Tomlin loved everything outdoors.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and then later with his grandchildren. He loved auto racing. He could be found at Lebanon Valley Speedway each week. For many years he was in the pits with his son, Lloyd who raced the family owned #19. He could also be seen in the grandstands with his family cheering on the #74 modified and the #7 pro stock, and many of his former competitors in the pure stock division. He truly enjoyed the final race he attended with both of his sons and his oldest grandson at his side. He was a
family-oriented man who could always make people laugh at the things he came up with.
A celebration of his life will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Germantown.
The family thanks anyone who extended thoughts, prayers and assistance during Mr. Tomlin’s illness, it was deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Community Hospice of Columbia / Greene County or to the Go-Fund me page set up to assist with his medical bills.
