Aldo L. Biondi (1924 – 2019)
HUDSON—Aldo L. Biondi, 95, of Copake passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 17, 1924 in Brooklyn, the son of Joseph and Maria (Jaccarelli) Biondi.
Mr. Biondo was a local resident since 1987, previously residing on Long Island.
He graduated college with a degree in advertising and had been employed as the director of advertising for Macy’s Dept. Store in New York City for seven years. He later served in the same capacity at the International Playtex Corp. for an additional 32 years. Upon his retirement to Copake he became employed by Columbia County as an attendant at the Copake Transfer Station.
At age 18 he volunteered and proudly served his country with the United States Army under General Douglas MacArthur in the Pacific Theater of operations from 1942 to 1946. He was a member of the Cadby–Shutts VFW Post #7552 in Hillsdale.
Mr. Biondi was a volunteer fireman for the Halesite Fire Dept. on Long Island for more than 22 years. He was a member of the former Roeliff Jansen Lions Club, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Roe Jan Young at Hearters. He was an avid fisherman and loved to ski, play golf and tennis.
Survivors include: his wife of 69 years, Carmela (Chiocco) Biondi of Copake; his daughters, Celeste Gustavsson of Hillsdale and Gina Hosier of Copake, along with a grandson, Joseph Hamm of Copake.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope in Copake Falls with the Reverend George Brennan officiating.
Friends are invited and may call at the church that day from 10 to 11 a.m.
Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Kenneth C. Wilber (1928 – 2019)
SPENCERTOWN—Kenneth Charles Wilber of Spencertown passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. He was 91 years young.
He was born in Hudson, April 16, 1928, the son of Charles E. Wilber and Myrtle Tipple Wilber. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Mae Race Wilber.
Educated at the Spencertown Academy, grades one through eight, he graduated from Chatham High School, class of 1945. Following graduation, “Ken” joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in China. He was later called back for the Korean War. Upon his return, Mr. Wilber was employed by New York State Electric & Gas, where he served as a chief lineman for 35 years.
He enjoyed hunting, cutting wood and the home he and his wife built in Spencertown, where they welcomed family and friends with good conversation, hearty meals and delicious desserts throughout the year.
Mr. Wilber is survived by: his sons, Richard (Dorothy) Wilber of Raleigh, NC, and Stephen (Carol) Wilber of Spencertown; grandchildren, Richard (Meg) Wilber and Kristin Wilber of Raleigh, NC, Jason (Josephinia) Wilber of Greenwich, CT, Greta Wilber of Parkland, FL and Amanda Wilber of Ghent; his great-grandchildren, John, Josh, Kenneth, Madeline and Patrick; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Virginia, Mr. Wilber was predeceased by his sister, Arlene Butler and brother, Edwin Wilber.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 12 at the Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Avenue, Chatham. Immediately following burial at the Spencertown Cemetery, a gathering was held at the home of Stephen and Carol Wilber on Big Woods Road, Spencertown.

Deirdre Rice (1969 – 2019)
VALATIE—Deirdre Rice, 50, of Valatie died suddenly Monday, October 7, 2019 at her home.
Born June 28, 1969 in Hudson, she was the daughter the late Harvey and Evelyn Wheeler.
She was a sales clerk for Kinderhook Beverage and a loving mother to Andrew and Allyssa.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew Rice of Stuyvesant and Allyssa Cumming of Valatie; three siblings, Harvey, Davis and Cheryl Wheeler; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
Todd Germain (1963 – 2019)
CHATHAM—Todd Germain died October 8, 2019. He was born August 22, 1963 in Albany.
He leaves behind: his mother, Lillian Germain; brother, Kevin; sisters, Christine Barvoets, Shannon and Stacy Germain.
He was predeceased by his father, George and sister, Renee Germain.
A calling hour takes place Tuesday, October 15, 10:30 a.m. at French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Prayers will be offered at 11 a.m.
Katherine M. Meaney (1921 – 2019)
COPAKE—Katherine M. Meaney of Copake passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the age of 97.
She was born December 25, 1921 in Breddorf, Germany, the daughter of William and Adeline (Meyer) Mahnken.
Known to her friends and family as “Kay,” she came to America at the age of two. She graduated as class salutatorian from Fairleigh Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ, and won the school’s top prize in English. She later became a licensed insurance broker and worked for the mortgage bank firm Sackman Gilliland Corp. in Brooklyn and Garden City.
On September 17, 1949, she married James Patrick Meaney. They bought a home together in Brooklyn and then in Hicksville. There she was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She sang in the church choir and served on the church council.
Mrs. Meaney is survived by: her daughter, Patricia Fisher and her husband Andrew; her grandchildren, David James Fisher and his wife Susan and Leigh Fisher-Troche and her husband Steven; her four great-grandchildren, Steven Gregory, Lily Katherine, Jordan Rebecca and Justin Knight.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Patrick Meaney, as well as her siblings, William and Marie Mahnken.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. with a funeral service at 6 p.m. at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. There will be an interment at Long Island National Cemetery the following day.
Jacob L. Kisselback (1986 – 2019)
ALBANY—Jacob L. Kisselback, 33, of Albany died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born March 12, 1986 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Peter L. Kisselback (Dawn Werner) of Valatie and Elizabeth Brito (Michael Severt) of Oceanside, CA.
He was a warehouseman for Hannaford in Schodack Landing. “Jake” was a happy, caring person that brought joy to so many people. Besides his parents, he is survived by: a brother, Gary Kisselback of Colorado; a step-brother, James Konderwhich of Kinderhook; his sisters, Emma Kisselback of Columbiaville, Katie Kisselback of Valatie and Amanda Konderwhich of Arizona; his loving Pitbull canine campion, Zeus; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Michael Lambert officiating. Burial will be private for the family. Donations are welcome and may be made to St. Peter’s Hospital ICU unit, 315 South Manning Boulevard, Albany 12208.
