Nancy A. Bednar (1951 – 2015)

HUDSON—Nancy E. (June) Bednar, 64, of Stockport passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born in Hudson November 27, 1951, she is the daughter of Charles June of Philmont and the late Mildred (Hamm) June.

Mrs. Bednar grew up in Philmont and attended the United Methodist Church. She graduated from Ockawamick Central School in 1969. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, football, football clubs, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Bednar was the beloved mother of Robert (Alicia) Albertson of Ghent and Shawn (Marina) Albertson of Red Hook; devoted grandmother of Randall, Leita, Theodora, Christina and Vasili; loving sister of Linda Burdick of Hancock, MA, Sharon Coleman, Brenda Wisdom and Rebecca Bonesteel, all of Hudson, and Charles A. June of Claverack. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and her best friend, Charlanne Loomis.

In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Bednar.

Visiting hours are Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Services will follow at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tobacco-Free Action of Columbia and Greene Counties, 325 Columbia Street, Hudson 12534 (518 822-0999) or to any other Stop Smoking Program.

Robert DiRocco (1932 – 2015)

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Robert “Bob” William DiRocco, 83, of Greencastle, IN, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015.

He was born December 9, 1932 in Astoria.

Mr. DiRocco served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from the New York State Park Police.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. DiRocco was a former Columbia County resident with family remaining in the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Dorothy F. DiRocco on February 8, 2011; a brother and a sister.

Surviving are: his sons, Robert E. DiRocco and wife Robin of Reelsville and Kenneth J. DiRocco and wife Christy of Roanoke, Virginia; a brother, Richard DiRocco and wife Diane of New York City; and two beloved grandsons, Dustin DiRocco and Shawn DiRocco.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with Father John Hollowell officiating. Interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
