Joseph H. Beaucage, III (1946 – 2019)
VALATIE—Joseph H. Beaucage, III, age 73, of Valatie passed away September 11, 2019.
He was born March 8, 1946 in Hudson, son of the late Joseph H. Beaucage, II, and Mary Jane (Holsapple) Beaucage.
He is survived by: his children, Leigh Ann Beaucage-Schermerhorn, Renee Lynn Beaucage, Shannon Marie Beaucage and Michael Broderick Beaucage; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Linda C. Beaucage (Michael), Kathi A. Austin (Al), and Brenda L. Martines (Bob), of Greenport and Valatie, respectively; one niece; five nephews; great-nephews; cousins; friends; his steadfast partner, Georgena Doyle of East Greenbush and her children. He was predeceased by his loving brother, Timothy W. Beaucage, I.
“Joey” was a 1964 graduate of Ichabod Crane High School, lettering in baseball, basketball and soccer.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969, and was aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Wasp aiding in the recovery of five Genesis space missions. He was named “Sailor of the Month” in October 1968.
Mr. Beaucage began his employment with Foster Refrigeration in Hudson, followed by the Kinderhook Telephone Corporation. Shortly thereafter, he joined the labor union to aid in constructing the Empire State Plaza in Albany. He then got involved in the petroleum industry: A/V Pump & Tank in Schodack and Anderson Equipment / M & E in Rensselaer. Running its course, he then pursued his “God-given ability”—carpentry. He was self-employed and worked with his brother, Timothy. With years of petroleum business under his belt, he helped advise Albany Pump Services in Selkirk. His most recent employment was at Winding Brook Country Club as the “greens roller.” His fellow co-workers at the equipment shed will miss his daily presence.
In his earlier years he enjoyed spending time at the “Hermit House” in Austerlitz—hunting and exploring outdoor life. He was a man of simplicity and shared his grandfather and father’s characteristic “Beaucage toughness.”
A graveside service officiated by Father George Fleming will be held at St. James’ Cemetery, Ghent, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11 a.m.
Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mr. Beaucage’s life at Winding Brook Country Club, 2839 Route 203, Valatie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Beaucage.

Helen M. Pinkowski (1937 – 2019)
DURHAM, NC—Helen M. Pinkowski, formerly of Stuyvesant, died September 16, 2019 at Season’s at SouthPoint in Durham, North Carolina. She was 81.
Born November 6, 1937 in Hudson, she was the daughter the late John and Julia (Norwicki) Sikoskie.
Mrs. Pinkowski was a registered nurse and adult services supervisor for Columbia County in Hudson. She was actively involved in her community, previously holding positions on the Stuyvesant Planning and Zoning Boards and with the Stuyvesant Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by: her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John W. Pinkowski, Sr.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2019, noon at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend George Fleming. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls. There will be no calling hours.

Stuart M. Meisner (1952 – 2019)
GREENPORT—Stuart M. Meisner, 67, of Greenport passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Born in Hudson, he was the eldest son of Rosalind and David Meisner.
A graduate of Hudson High School, Mr. Meisner received his associate’s degree in agricultural engineering from SUNY Cobleskill. He was a lifelong farmer of grain, hay, fruits and vegetables, and dairy cows. He was the operator of Meisner’s Farm and Meisner’s Farm Stand in Greenport.
A caring and devoted son to his parents who predeceased him, he leaves to cherish his memory: a sister, Rhonda Meisner; two brothers, Stephen (Melissa) Meisner and Norman Meisner; cousins, David and Harriet Ackerman, Daniel Meisner, Reta Tiano, Hedda Rosen, David Lassman and Carol Lassman. He also leaves behind his aunt, Claire Meisner Swartz, and lifelong friends, John Fingar and Paul Estok. His life was devoted to his family, friends and animals, he will be truly missed.
A procession will form at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson, Sunday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m., then head to Cedar Park Cemetery where a graveside service will be officiated by Rabbi Daniel Fried at 11 a.m.

Robert L. Michael (1940 – 2019)
ALBANY—Robert Leroy Michael, 78, of Hudson passed the morning of September 18, 2019 at Albany Medical Center.
Known as “Bob,” he was born in Great Barrington, MA, and resided in Craryville before relocating to Hudson.
He was a graduate of Roe Jan, Mohawk Valley Community College and Oswego State University, where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Prior to obtaining his college degrees, he was in the United States Air Force for four years, having served oversees during Vietnam.
Known by many of his students as “Mr. Michael,” he was a technology teacher in the Hudson City School District for more than 40 years. He was also employed with the United States Postal Service for more than 20 years.
In 1978, he married Beatrice Stichter and a year later their daughter, Leann Michael, was born.
Mr. Michael was predeceased by his father, Leroy Michael, his mother, Olive (Nelson) Michael and his sister, Ann (Michael) Stupplebeen.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by: his sisters, Alice Mary (Michael) Hymel and Betty Lou (Michael) Russin; his step-children, Kristine Warfield and Raymond Warfield; his nieces and nephew.
Mr. Michael was known by the community as a hard worker and a genuinely good person. He would constantly be approached by former students, colleagues, and people of the neighborhood with a big smile on their face and the extension of an enthusiastic handshake or a pat of appreciation on the back. He will truly be missed by many.
Visitation hours will be held Sunday, September 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. The funeral will be Monday, September 23, 1 p.m. from Trinity United Methodist Church, 555 Joslen Boulevard, Greenport. Interment will follow in West Copake Reformed Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, the Trinity United Methodist Church or the West Copake Reformed Church Cemetery Association.
