Ella M. Amidon (1931 – 2019)
BENNINGTON, VT—Ella M. (Sweener) Amidon, 88, of Petersburgh died Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Stephentown February 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Louis N. and Florence D. (Moon) Sweener.
She attended Berlin Central School and later in her life in 1995 returned to Troy High School to earn her high school diploma.
She was employed by Robert Reis Undergarment and W.J. Cowee, Inc., both in Berlin; Bennington Convalescent Center; Berkshire Farm in Canaan as a nurse’s aide and was a nanny for Dr. Charles Salem and Dr. Sarah Dahl, both of Bennington, VT.
Mrs. Amidon was a member of the Cherry Plain Community Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was also a member of the Berlin, Stephentown, Petersburgh and Grafton senior citizens groups and belonged to the Berlin American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was the wife of the late Howard G. Amidon, who died in 1998; beloved mother of Charles J. (Sharon) Amidon of Forsyth, MO, and Howard G. (Bonnie) Amidon, Jr., of Petersburgh; grandmother of Brad and Brian Amidon, April Larabee, Elizabeth, Jason, Howard III and Stephen Amidon; great-grandmother of Marcus and Stacey Larabee and Austin Bortell; sister of Nelson W. “Pete” Sweener of Troy, Anna C. Geraldi of New Lebanon, Arthur D. Sweener of Alabama and the late James F. Sweener and Gladys I. Martinson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 11 a.m. at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh with a calling hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.

Bernard J. Petrillo (1929 – 2019)
NEWBURYPORT, MA—Bernard J. Petrillo, 90, of Newburyport, MA, formerly of Valatie, passed away peacefully July 13, 2019. A calling hour will be held Thursday, July 18 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street (Route 9), Valatie. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Valatie.
Aaron K. Jacobs (1948 – 2019)
NIVERVILLE—Aaron K. Jacobs, 70, of Niverville passed away Sunday, July 14 surrounded by family.
Born December 18, 1948, he was the son of the late Roswell and Vivian (Haywood) Jacobs.
He was a veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Jacobs is survived by: his wife, Diane; a sister, Candace (Angelo) Melino; daughters, Tara (Rick) Rossano and Amanda (Kyle) Logan; step-children, Thomas (Tracy) Delaney and Jodi (Dennis) Stupplebeen; grandchildren, Brandon and Carly Rossano, Flynn Logan, Krysten, Alexys and Brystol Delaney, Justin Stupplebeen; several nieces and nephews.
