EAST CHATHAM—David Kelly Wilson of East Chatham passed away February 27, 2025 after a short but courageous battle with an unexpected illness. He was only 73 years old, and his family is devastated at his sudden death. He was born January 15, 1952 in Memphis, TN.
“Dave” is survived by: his loving wife of 20 years, Jodi Wilson; his beloved daughter, Alexandria Wilson; his step-daughter, Leanne Shunney; his sister, Kathryn Denise Wilson; his niece, Ashley Miller, and many cousins. His memory will also be cherished by his many close friends, near and far.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Van and Bobbie Wilson; his niece, Jade McElroy, and his in-laws, Lee and Ruthann Fingar.
He developed a career in computer programming in his thirties, which took him to Houston, TX, after living in Little Rock, AR, for many of his early years. His career gave him the opportunity to travel around the world, including to New Zealand, Belgium, Gibraltar and Mexico. He finally relocated to East Chatham in 2005 with his daughter, Alex. There he married the love of his life, Jodi.
He had many hobbies, including drag racing his bright red 1996 Z28 Camaro. He was a former second degree black belt in Taekwondo. He had a deep love of music and played his electric guitar everyday. He had a passion for cooking for his family and friends, sharing his Tex-Mex cuisine and his amazing cheesecakes. He was loved by everyone he met, touching many people’s lives. He was an engaging storyteller, always had a kind word, and was ready to help a friend or loved one at a moment’s notice. He will be eternally missed by all his dear family and friends.
