VALATIE—Cynthia “Diddy” Elizabeth Scoville Lill of Valatie passed away February 12, 2025 at home after a brief illness.
She was born in Orangeburg, SC, to Sarah “Sally” Van Alstyne (Abraham) and William Perryclear Scoville.
She attended Orangeburg High School and graduated in 1955.
She then went on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in secretarial sciences at the University of South Carolina.
In 1970, she and the love of her life started the business RM Lill Inc. They grew the business together for 35 years. She loved spending time with her family, playing tennis and running in the Freihofer’s 5K race every year.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 58 years, Richard M. Lill, Sr. of Valatie; sons, Nicholas Donald Lill Herrera (Hector) of Queens and Richard M. Lill, Jr. (Gina) of North Greenbush; granddaughter, Lexie Rose Lill (Andy) of Wynantskill; brother, William Van Alstyne (Nancie) of Clermont, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at the request of the family. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
