VALATIE—John D. Heimroth, 76, of County Route 28B, passed away at home Friday, June 18, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. His family was with him.
Born in Niverville, November 13, 1933, he was the son of the late John J. and Marie (Fay) Heimroth. Mr. Heimroth was a 57-year member of the Niverville Fire Department and a retired farmer and landlord.
He is survived by his sister Jane M. Fischer of Niverville; his brother Wayne Heimroth of Tampa, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9, Valatie. Funeral services and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Niverville will be at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, 12414, or to the Valatie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 242, Valatie 12184.
