Joseph J. Wright (1987 – 2014)
OAK GROVE, KY—Joseph J. Wright of Chatham passed away July 18, 2014.
He was born September 19, 1987 in Albany. He grew up there and graduated from Albany High School.
After high school, Mr. Wright attended a culinary art certification program in Albany. Upon completion, he worked as a prep cook at the Albany Marriot, Price Chopper in Menands and, after moving with his wife and daughter to Chatham, he worked for Lippera’s Chatham House.
In 2012 Mr. Wright joined the U.S. Army and was very proud of his service. He enjoyed playing guitar and loved time with his family the most.
Mr. Wright is survived by: his wife, Deborah Giftos Wright; his daughter, Annabelle Spring Wright and his in-laws, Deborah and George Giftos, all of Chatham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 28, 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Jennie C. Allen (1933 – 2014)
HUDSON—Jennie C. Allen, 81, of Greenport passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born July 15, 1933 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Abram and Cornelia (Feyfe) Kells.
Ms. Allen was employed as an assembler at Kadin Bros. and was union president there.
Previously she worked for Barnwell Nursing Home and Hudson Cold Storage. Ms. Allen was a member of J.W. Hoystradt Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary and Christ Church Episcopal. She was devoted to her family.
Ms. Allen was the beloved mother of Linda Knott of Stuyvesant, Anna Dittmar of Savannah, Georgia, Marilyn Allen and Harry Allen, Jr., both of Hudson, Holly Race of Elizaville and John Allen, Sr. of Hudson.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; her brother, Abram Kells of Ancram; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Allen.
Calling hours are Monday, July 28, 2014, 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Thomas W. Kiernan, Jr. (1929 – 2014)
CASTLETON—Thomas W. Kiernan, Jr., 84, a resident of Riverside Nursing Center in Castleton, died Thursday, July 24, 2014.
Born October 28, 1929 in Albany, he was the son of the late Mae L. (Lederhouse) Kiernan.
Mr. Kiernan was a Korean War veteran, who served in the U.S. Army, and a courier for the New York State Office of General Services.
He is survived by: his sister, Mary Kiernan of Valatie; two nieces, Dawn Sullivan and Dana Cai and several great-nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
Karen J. Adams (1952 – 2014)
RENO, NV—Karen Julie Adams, 61, of Claverack passed away Monday, July 21 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a valiant and inspiring fight with cancer.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.
After taking the guiding hand of the lord, she leaves behind a deeply saddened family: her husband, Stephen; daughters, Pam, Lindsy and Julie (Hector); a grandson, Isaac; her mother, Catherine and a brother.
She was predeceased by her father, Roy.
She worked for several years at Columbia Memorial Hospital in patient registration.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside committal prayers at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson, for family, friends and all who loved her are incomplete and will be announced.
