Elizabeth J. Hallenbeck (1932 – 2014)
HUDSON—Elizabeth Jane (Jaycox) Hallenbeck, 82, a lifelong resident of Hudson, passed away Wednesday morning, May 21 surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born March 21, 1932 in Hudson to the late Anna (Kuher) and Newton Jaycox.
She grew up on Daisy Hill Farm, where she developed her love for riding her horse, Buster, on trails alongside the Hudson River.
Mrs. Hallenbeck graduated from Hudson High School in 1950. She pursued a career in nursing, graduating from Columbia Memorial School of Nursing in 1953. She was a registered nurse, employed by Columbia Memorial Hospital. She continued her love and compassion for caring for others by becoming a supervisor at the Adventist Home in Livingston.
Mrs. Hallenbeck, a devoted wife, a loving mother and a caring grandmother, is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jack Hallenbeck. They shared the same date and year of birth, born at the same hospital, proving to be a pair that was destined to be together.
They raised four beloved children: Deborah Hallenbeck of Malta, Donna (Hallenbeck) Burns, her husband and amazing son-in-law, Thomas Burns and their two children, Sarah (Chris Hensel) and Jennifer Burns, all of Hudson and Diane (Hallenbeck) Mallery of Hudson and David Hallenbeck (Jodi Fansler) of Rensselaer; her granddaughters, Sarah and Jennifer adored their grandmother and aim to be as compassionate and strong as she was.
Mrs. Hallenbeck is also survived by lifelong friend, Blanche Hawks and her family. She was predeceased by lifelong friend, Ed Hawks.
Mrs. Hallenbeck had a tremendous amount of love for one very special member of the family, their rescue dog, Midge. Midge brought her comfort and peace in her final days.
Mrs. Hallenbeck was a selfless, compassionate woman, who always put others before herself, even through her final days.
She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, as well as the Hudson Trippers and Greenport Seniors. She had a love for gardening, birds, reading and cooking for her family. Her family will carry on her love of life and nature, as she always taught them that even flowers bloom and birds sing during the saddest of times.
Mrs. Hallenbeck’s family extends sincerest thanks to the Community Hospice of Columbia and Greene counties. Hospice’s help and support brought comfort and peace to the family and Mrs. Hallenbeck.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Mellenville Union Cemetery in Mellenville.

Ilona Perrino (1950 – 2014)
HUDSON—Ilona Perrino, 64, of Hillsdale passed away peacefully Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1950 in Hamburg, Germany, the daughter of the late Yanko and Elfriede (Zimmath) Radmanovic.
Mrs. Perrino was a local resident since 1974 and along with her family operated TP Landscaping and Floral Shop originally located in Hillsdale and now in Copake Falls.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony A. “Tony” Perrino December 28, 2011.
She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Nichole Perrino of Copake Falls; her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Chris Hilla of North Carolina; her beloved grandchildren, Sophia, Natalee and Margo.
